Yeah, that's a newport beach CS prototype.

 

It's right here on scottycameron.com. The one it is showing is a tour, but it was production as well with a different sole.

Yeah it came to retail in a way. I bought 3 last year. Just post a WTB ad for one or look on ebay. They normally run between 550 and 750 each. Make sure you get the proper headcover with it. This model comes with a Blue headcover. The newport CS comes with a red one. Make sure it comes with the blue

i just found one for a starting bid of 200 but it is not a proto but it comes with a red studio stainless proto cover, is this safe? the putter

Yes that is a safe putter to buy. It is a proto, it's just a different proto. I in fact have that one, and it will be for sale soon probably, as I would like to get the one with the mini hosel, so I can bend it.

That's not the same one. That is a Newport CS Prototype, not a Newport Beach CS Prototype. Not worth as much. As you can see it doesn't have the welded hosel, or the beach slot. Shaft enters directly into the head. Still a great putter though.

They are both pretty decent putters. I am a little biased towards one though. LOL The SC is face balanced almost perfectly. The Seemore is a 5-5:30 to hang. The cameron is normally 330 grams, and the Seemore is 345 on average. If you notice now, Scotty doesn't make any more putters with the 3 dot alignment system. Reason for this being that Seemore took him to court over the alignment aid and won and the judge ordered Scotty not to use it anymore. Thatalignment system works great on both putters.

 

Both very great putters. I like the Seemore a little more due to the heft of the head.

You won't find one for 300.

If you notice, on the Detour, it only has 1 alignment dot, not three. They have the exclusive on the three dot. Something to do with the use of alignment w/ 3 being more than with 1. LOL If you think of it though, He doesn't use the 3 dot at all since then. You had the REd X2 and these, but no more with 3 dots, just 1.

Yea, you can find a mint Newport II Centershaft.

 

You'll have to look for a while longer to find the beach version.

 

If you want a 350g version, look to spend at least 1200.

T.P. Mills has a center shafted tradition. It has the same anser style head that you are looking for, and the head weight is around 360g and it is face balanced. You can see some pictures of them on Jay's site.

I played with a guy last week here in Nashville who had one of the new SeeMore's (similar to the one in Chris' avatar) and it was one of the nicest putters I have ever tried. Evidently he does some business with them and ended up with the putter.

 

Great looking head (significantly thicker in appearance that the Cameron center shafted), but nicely milled and felt great on the couple of putts I hit with it.

 

I'm still looking for a Cameron, though. Should have bought Adam's when I had the chance!!
