To start the Ping is Back in the Bag...

Callaway Review-

Driver-
It had a solid feel and great launch and flight. Spin was low. Ball rolled out better that my Ping. Adjustability options were very once but took a little reading to understand. The main thing I did not like was the forgiveness and workability. I have only been testing drivers to find one a little more workable and the Cally was not as workable and it should be for a Pro Labeled Driver. Has the square face which really promotes a fade which is nice for a guy like me that misses to the left. All in all is wasn't enough of a performance difference or knock the Ping out or the bag. I can point and shoot with the Ping and may try the i25 to address the workability issues.

3 Wood-
Long Long Long! Now that that's out of the way. Once again Fade Biased Pro version that hits a long straight to cut ball. Feel is great and forgiveness was pretty good. Loved it off the tee but not as much out of the fairways. Seems to have a deeper face than the orginal Xhot and Deep face is not for me. I don't hit a lot of 3 woods off fairways bc of my distance but when I do I want total confidence and don't have it with this club. May do a little more work with it but probably not going to stay in the bag, looks like this year will be a mixed bag. Cally irons and pure money and not going anywhere!

Man! That's interesting to hear. I was considering going X2HP woods to match my irons but if they aren't anything special I'm not going to waste the money. I was so impressed with the CT 2.0 driver, I'm considering going that route in the woods! Now I really like deep faced fairway woods, so would the X2HP be good for me? I'm leaning 3 deep as of now, but if the X2HP is deep enough faced I would have no problem going that route!

The 3 wood would prob suit you good if you like the deeper face. I hit the CT 2.0 and was thoroughly impressed! Not ruling it out either!

Was about the same. If you put the two on a robot I think you would see about 5-10 yards difference. The X2 is prob a little longer because it spins less and rolls more but I have a longer carry with the G25. It's also hard to go apples to apples since the shafts are different. The ATX green is a great shaft but still a little board like to me. I can feel the ball and club better with the TS Speeder.

Tried out the X2Hot Pro driver today. Not impressed at all. Spin rate was around 3000 RPM every swing, even on my good swings. Distance was sub par too.

G25 was really nice, but I couldn't justify getting that when I was hitting my Fast 12 LS 15 yards past it with sub 2100 RPM every swing.

They work great together! The Bridgestone is a great ball. Longer and straighter than a Pro V1 or X any day and much better spin control for me with the Bstone. Especially the 2014 balls that they put a little softer cover on!

Well….. Changed and Now Changing Back. Ping i25 was in the bag for about 2 weeks and overall a great driver but I just have to much confidence in my [b]G25[/b]. The i25 had a better ball flight and maybe 5 yards longer because of lower spin but the G25 is just money all the time. Also just picked up a set of [b]Vokey SM5's. 52 "F" 56 "F" 60 "K"[/b] because I have just about worn the grooves out in my Scratch wedges. Stay tuned for updates and new pics!
