SF Bay Area - Skins game?

We're trying for Thursday Feb 1st @ Moffet Field 12:00-1:00. KJ was nice enough to talk the proshop into calling it a tournament which will get everyone on base. Once we have a confirmed list, the names will be left at the front gate the day of the skins game. Lets try to have the list ASAP - hopefully by Monday. Please PM me with your full name once you've confirmed so it can be left at the gate.

I'll be in town during the first week of Feb to tie up some lose ends. I have some stuff planned for the morning of Feb 1st, but could play some golf in the afternoon. Friday the 2nd is completely free. I know a few of us will play for sure, but if there is enough interest maybe we can set up a small skins game with 3 or 4 groups.

Just thought a quick poll would help gauge the interest.

I'm sure we'll also get together at some point for some cards. Anyone thats interested is invited.

Both the golf and cards will have some friendly wagering. I'm a non-golfer now a days - I played 8ish times in the last year, and haven't even touched a club since Sept. Todays high in Utah will be about 7 and the low last night was -4. So as you can see I wont have any opportunity to even hit a bucket of balls before heading to the bay. My point is, everyone, no matter you skill level, is invited and encouraged to come out and play. Most of us will be there to donate to the sticks like Shortknocker - but it'll be fun.

Once we get a better idea of who's playing we'll decide on the course.

Poker is easy. All you have to do is say 'All in' Any time you have an ace in your hand. :D

 

It'll be good to play with you again. Make sure to spread the word. It would be fun to have 4 or 5 groups like we use to be able to get at Moffet. Too bad King Kamehameha relocated to Sac - he was always good for cards and golf. Someone will have to let Larry Dews in on the event too.

When was it 30*? When we were indoors? That was the coldest round of golf without rain I have ever played.

No kidding!!! :)

 

I would have quit if not because i haven't played full round 18 holes in 2-3 months because of this stupid elbow.

 

But the way i drive it that day, i can't complaint to much...considering how crazy that wind was and freezing cold.

 

I will never forget that 17th hole shot w/ 4 iron stinger dead straight 25-30 ft of the ground for 175 yards and end up short about at least 10 yard.

 

Friday is better for me and if i can't make it on golf...i'll make it for holdem. We should invite Mr. Litigator. :)

 

I hope my Jet Lag is not gonna be that bad!!!

Moffet has been thrown around as an idea - some consider it a dog track, a group of Larry's consider it home. I think it really depends on the day we pick. If anyone has some pull at a course send me a PM.

I'm not sure what the new rules are down there, but I'm sure we can swing it. There has to be two or three of you guys that have a new card. One card will get an entire car load in. We might also be able to get in through some loop holes with Foothill as well.

I play Moffett regularly and just talked to the guys in the pro-shop and I can set something up for Thursday around 12:00 for 2-3 groups. Rates are $24 to walk and I think an additional $8-10 pp to ride.

 

If this is something everyone wants to do, I will need to get the names of everyone so we can have a list at the front gate to get on base. The pro-shop will tell them it's a tournament so there shouldnt be any problem.

 

Who knows, maybe I'll be able to talk Shannon into coming down.

good work KJ... maybe this Larry needs to take another day off. For me it's time dependent, this Larry has a kid that he needs to be pickup'd from daycare.
