Bellingham Area Course Conditions?

Hi folks,

 

Was thinking of bringing my clubs with me when I head up to see family/friends in Vancouver in a couple weeks.

Fly into BLI, so thought I might relive the good 'ol days of the late 90s and play either North Bellingham or Padden, other option being Loomis Trail.

How has the weather the past month treated the courses? I know Padden can be pretty swampy if it's been wet, and North Bellingham is typically the driest, but was hoping someone could give me an idea how the season has started.

Played North Bellingham last weekend, my "home course". It was in pretty good shape. Greens were surprisingly fast for this time of the year. They have been replacing the bunker sand over the past year or so, taking out the old cement and putting in softer sand. Can't vouch for any of the others though. Only other course I play more than once a year down there is Shuksan, and I would not go there until at least July.

Played both Loomis and Semiahmoo this year, both were a little damp, but we have had a dry week or so, they may have improved.

Use to luv to play all the tracks across the border....but with the price of gas and the long border lines since 911.....I rarely venture to the US anymore....I live in North Vanc...so it's at least 45 mins to the border in good traffic.

We've had a wet winter....but this week has been glorious and dry.
Don't forget to call ahead...many tracks are punching the courses nowadays.

Semiahmoo and Loomis are really hurting for biz nowadays.
Look at the rates....great deals and Wednesday specials......too good to pass up...these 2 are the premier tracks....IMO

If the weather holds up I think I'll try Loomis, otherwise North Bellingham it is. Being just of the Guide helps too.

The courses are looking good, the weather this past week has helped them dry up a bit. I play Shuksan regularly and its in great shape too.
I'm sure Loomis will be in great shape. Morgan Creek was impeccable last week.
