Unbranded milled putter...any ideas on origin?

I have a used TM4 that I bought off the bay and it does look like that design.

Around the time the “no cavity” head was made I was working with Rick Cooper on the Manufacture of our Maxfli putters. He started getting people asking him to make putters for them. He took my heads often and simply marked them with the 001 as they were machined within a 1thousands of an inch for high quality. The cavity back shown is my TM4.

Lamont’s not all wrong as Dick did get with Rick on putters. Maxfli Tad Moore putters were the first production milled putters with sales of 20,000 or more around the World. Many people were jealous of our success and since Maxfli is no longer as I knew it some people have claimed a lot of things. It was a very hectic time as people tried to get a share of the market

Wow...amazing to see how far this thread has come since I initially posted it many moons ago. Thanks to all who have taken the time to share the knowledge and finally solve the 'mystery'.

 

I'm just gutted that I sold the putter on soon after posting...

I've seen Tad post on a few forums over the years. And i always find his 'straight from the horse's mouth' posts so insightful.

 

It's of course always great to hear the truth form the founder; and it's always plainly clear the knowledge, passion and memories he has of those ground-breaking times.

Do you have any thoughts on who may have been involved with milling this Mizuno M-400 / SC JAT style putter?

Carbon steel with no shaft label. Could it be a "blank"?

The milling is top notch. The sight line(s) is different, but the flange and neck are spot on to the M-400. There is a top inside top line vertical milled out line from near the neck out toward the toe without paint fill.

Rick Cooper? Ken Giannini?

I think I read somewhere that Giannini was involved with Scotty and the Mizuno M lines.
