Loooking for a trip to top Bandond Dunes

We do an annual golf trip in February of each year. This past year we did 5 days/ 9 rounds at Bandon. Hit the weather great and given the prices at that time of year we paid less than $1100 for golf and hotels.

 

Any advice on options we should check out that could top this?

Not sure you can top Bandon but here is a little trip in better weather:
Streamsong for 2 days/72 holes
World Woods for 2 days/72 holes
Orange County National for 2 days/72 holes

Very nice trip and decent weather in February.

You can do the Northwest of Ireland very reasonably cost wise - but I wouldn't go in Febuary

Seriously, I don't have an answer to your question because there is nowhere to go but down. Northern Michigan is the only thing that I can think of that might rival it.

1) Arcadia
2) Kingsley Club
3) Lochenheath
4) Bay Harbor
5) True North

If you manage to get all those in and add some others, which won't be hard, you'll get no complaints. I don't think it will supplant Bandon as #1, but you'll get no complaints.

If you're stuck on February, Palm Springs has the best weather that time of year.

I gave a tongue-in-cheek reply first, but let me expand on it. If you're looking for something that will compete quality-wise, you *might* be able to find it. If you're looking something that will do that AND be price-competitive - I don't think it exists. All the other areas that I'm aware of that where one can play in February will be charging prices between high and peak season, as opposed to near-low season pricing at Bandon.

I went in March and I think it's not only the best place I've been, but it's the most value-driven golf trip I've been on.

If you're a member at Cypress Point, you could play there and add the other courses in the Monterey vicinity. Otherwise, I think you're out of luck.

I don't think Bandon can be topped for the prices you paid in the U.S. I would love to play Streamsong though. Pinehurst has alot of great courses and history. I have played # 2 three times but would love to again since the restoration is complete. That is a great area for golf!!
