Conditions at The Tribute?

I have a buddy flying in this weekend for a round of golf and some BBQ and was thinking about taking him up to The Tribute. I've played there once before a few years ago and loved it but I just wanted to see if anyone could chime in on the current course conditions. It's over an hour drive for me and a pretty expensive so I just wanted to make sure it was worth the trip.

I'd play Old American which is right next door. The Tribute is fun, but while it looks like the real thing, it doesn't play like it. Old American is a better course, less crowded, and probably similar cost.

For something less expensive try the Texas Star in Euless, Ridgeview Ranch in Plano, Sky Creek Ranch in Keller, or Grapevine Municipal.

Texas Star is a better course than tribute in my opinion. Theres a really good bbq place close by also, I can remember the name though possibly Off The Bone?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I do agree Texas Star is a good track and always in fantastic shape but count me in the group that thinks the layout is a little quirky. Plus I once had a ranger get on us at the turn about pace of play, after we had just finished the front nine in a shade under 2 hours. I'm sorry the two-some in front of us was a few holes clear, not much I can do about that and the rangers response to me saying that wasn't exactly positive.

I've heard excellent things about The Old American, but my buddy isn't all that great of a golfer and I've heard it's pretty demanding even from the shorter tees. Also heard great things about Sky Creek and Grapevine but my buddy was pretty excited about the idea of The Tribute. I just wanted to make sure they hadn't had any set backs in conditions or service the last couple of years.

And I've got the BBQ part covered, we moved down to Texas about five years ago from the midwest and to me the two best parts of this place are the year round golf, and the BBQ!

Maybe you are thinking of Main Street Barbecue? That's about the only good barbecue in Euless.
