Hamilton Going To Nike?

I saw Todd Hamilton had Nike irons in his bag at The Canadian Open. Is he switching next year? This is the time of year they get used to new clubs. I know he has worked with TM for a while one new irons. My buddy is one of his closest friends in McKinney, TX and says he was tried several sets of TM's but nothing works.

well he used to play with MP-33's so the switch to nike seems harmless.

If they paid him anything, it is "overpaid". He is unproven as yet, at best currently a fluke. I don't know of anyone who would switch to Nike because he uses them.

He followed up his win at the Honda with a British Open. I think that is proving something. More than most recognizable names have done. He played a really mixed bag. He carried at one time just a Taylor Made Staff Bag and a 540 XD. He played MP33 irons, a Sonartec MD, and a PING putter. So him moving to Nike isn't a major shock or loss to Taylor Made.

He can obviously play some golf, you don't win a British and suck, but he is still a lower level PGA Star to me.

Nike just wants to grow their stable, by signing any tour player they can. I don't care who they sign, if Tiger ever leaves, nike golf will die.

TaylorMade has alot bigger names than him, losing him costs TM nothing. It was Sonartec that made the killing from him and the Open.

Good Point, I forgot about him. But even he has made it to the PGA Tour level, he can't suck that bad. And he gets his pick of all the new Titleist stuff, lucky stiff.
