Ohio WRXers: Quarry Golf Outing

Hi Wrxers,

 

I just wanna get a feel for the level of interest out there to the golf the Quarry in Canton, Ohio. A couple people have stated their desire to golf this course ( me included). Ideally we could get 2 foursomes but the more the merrier.

 

So Before we book tee times let me know if you are interested and if you have any ideas for some games ( perhaps skins, pins and something else just to make it interesting). Perhaps we could pair up in twosomes and do a little Ryder cup format. I was thinking four ball on the front then a scramble on the back. I don't know just throwing it out there.

 

Also state your preference for weekend or weekday. I would prefer a weekday ( easier to use the ESPN golf pass) but I don't mind either way. Right now shooting for late September or early October so we have some time.

 

So if you are interested just reply to this topic and we can gauge what the level of interest is then come to a consensus on how to proceed.

I would be interested I'm around the Lima, Ohio area,

But depends on the date, my wedding is the 28th then honeymoon till the 6th of October.

I could also bring a friend to play if needed.

I would be in and have a semi-flexible schedule and can do weekend or weekday, with enough notice. I've been wanting to play the Quarry for some time now but have had a hard time getting a foursome to play. I actually could probably bring at least 2-4 more golfers, again depending on the day and time, and with enough notice. My only serious weekend conflict is Notre Dame football, I am going to at least three more games which would count me out for those weekends, obviously.

As for format, I am down for anything. Personally, I'd definitely vote for some sort of team format. Seems like it would be a good way for us to get to know each other better for those who don't. I would suggest, besides playing proximities, greenies, etc. for a couple bucks each, maybe play stroke the front nine and break up into two man teams based on score for the back and play some kind of game, whether it's scramble or something. Just no alternating shot formats or anything. I've never played the course and want to get my money's worth. Not that I probably won't take plenty of strokes anyways, haha.

I can play too. Weekdays are easier for me, but with enough notice I can do a weekend. We are having a baby in early October, I think the 7th is when its scheduled so anytime before then. I don't care what games we play....I like skins and greenies, two man teams....whatever. I might be able to get another player too if needed. I'd play a weekend round for sure, possibly a Thursday or Friday round.

Id drive up from Cincy for a weekday round. Tuesday or Thursday works best on my end.

Thanks for the congrats. Anytime before the 7th. After, I would probably need a court order from Judge Judy to get out of the house to go golfing. I checked the Quarry out online today...looks pretty good. Sounds like we could get quite the turnout.

I have never played the Quarry, but have heard nothing but rave reviews. It would be nice to get enough people to get a discount and maybe they could throw in a greens fee or two for prizes.

Hello Gentlemen,

I received bad news this week. Im gonna have to go under the knife and have season ending shoulder surgery. I was hoping to find a volunteer to take over organizing this thing. It seems that a weekend would work best for most people and that the earlier the better. Im so bummed that I will miss this. Oh well maybe next year. Hope you guys have a great time if you do get it together.
