I do a no strings giveaway annually so here we go.

 

13 clubs and a stand bag and I'll ship it for nada.

 

Some "rules" -

1) It goes to a lefty in good standing in our corner of WRX - Canada or US

2) It goes to a junior this time - High school to age 24 ... you people be broke !!

3) If you sell any of it in the BST I'll be sad

4) Just post why you want or need it - what do you play, why is this stuff suited for your game, sob story ... whatever.

 

I have a limited attention span so I'll make my decision on Sat or Sun depending on interest.

 

Here's what you'll get:

Everything is used but Driver, 3W, Putter and Bag have stickers on and saw less than 2 days of outdoors - all other stuff is 8/10 minimum. Grips are all new/newish and either stock or upgraded.

So I'm a broke golf addict that recently got introduced to the game by my cousin Brent. I played a few times over summer with him and after using my dad's clubs for a few times, I realized it was time to get my own set of clubs. I searched for weeks on craigslist to find something quality under $300 dollars, I soon realized that this was probably not going to happen, yet I continued the search.

To my surprise I found a guy who was willing to trade a guitar for a set of clubs and woods. The photo quality on the photos wasn't the greatest for the irons, but the Woods clearly said Callaway. I did some research based of what I could make out in the photo, and came to the conclusion that they were the Big Bertha Iron set. After realizing that this might be the good deal, I scavenged my garage to find my old guitar.

I called up the guy who lived about 30 minutes away from me, he said he'd be willing to check out the guitar and consider the trade. I hooked up the guitar, and it works, but the amp was having some problems. (I wasn't too worried about the amp since I was giving it in as a bonus). I drove up to his house and he brought out the clubs. I proceed to swing the clubs a few times, they looked like they were in decent condition, nice grips, new shafts. etc. I think I'm getting a steal on these golf clubs, and tried to speed up the process of the transaction. After getting his approval on the guitar we parted ways.

Flash forward the next day when I'm on my porch cleaning of my new set of used clubs. Thinking to myself that I finally have my own set was an awesome feeling. Not having to rent or use my dads, I was happy. So I'm scrubbing off the dirt and making them all shiny, when I noticed something on the logo. I looked closer and realized that these were not the "Big Bertha's" but the "Big Brothers".

I was a bit confused so I decided to look them up online. Turns out I got a knockoff set of irons that cost about $30 dollars on [url="http://www.ebay.com/"]eBay[/url], the drivers are about $8 each. On top of that they had graphite shafts, which are way too soft for my swing speed. So after that, I decided to look up the shafts since they said they have a lifetime warrenty. Well, that company either never existed, or shut down years ago because google listed nothing when I typed in the company's name.

My grandma gave me $200 bucks to buy a new golf wedge for Christmas because she knows how much I love playing, yet now that I know I have fake irons...I'm not sure if I would benefit more from new irons, or a single wedge.

Basically, I would love you to the moon and back if you would choose me to be the new keeper of your clubs. I would cherish them, and make sure they were always shiny and clean. I would donate my old set to someone in need like you did, and help pay it forward. Most importantly, every time I pulled them out to smack a shot off the tee box, I'd think about you and how you were so awesome in this time of giving.

This is awesome. That set of clubs is no garbage either !!! i was thinking of doing something similar in the righty section. I have so much equipment and it just sits there, a lot of stuff i got in bulk trades and will never use. i must have a dozen Cleveland wedges CG10/CG12 sitting around that have mint faces. don't think im in the position to be paying to mail the stuff, but maybe ill do a "shipping only" sale?
