Slideshow Signatures...

WHY?????

Not sure if this is the right place for this or not, but why people? Why must you add these in your signatures? I can only imagine the mayhem it causes for dial up users. Plus they are kind of annoying. If I want to see what I read in the signature I will check the WITB. When I see the signatures filled with pictures I go crazy. Am I alone on this? (Not trying to cause any trouble or anything, just trying to get some opinions from both sides of the issue.)

I agree with you. If they have a WITB thread, they should link us to it, rather than putting a slide show that takes forever to scroll into your sig.

I agree with you, but this had been brought up before and people still are getting it. I guess if they both you that much just turn off the signatures.

I think you can block them if you use Firefox with Ad Block Plus extension. It's helpful at blocking all sorts of ads...may even improve your dial up speed.

I operate on a T1 connection, and I add all sorts of updates to Firefox. I just get annoyed by the slideshows..

Cool...I just misread your post and thought you might be using dial up. Yes - the slide shows are annoying. Now that I think about it, I have Ad Block Plus turned off for Golfwrx anyway...so it doesn't really help!

I guess I don't see the problem...I have DSL and it doesn't annoy me 1 bit. It may clog up the system and also be annoying for dial up users. But for me I don't care, they don't make a difference either way.

Yours is static, doesn't move....it is bigger than my preference but not annoying by any stretch.

Gotta agree about the slideshow signatures. I travel for a living and sometimes dial-up is my only option. No problem listing what's in your bag or having a link or something similar to KevCarter's but if I want to see it, I'll choose to look at it.

I turned off sigs a long time ago, I really don't care what clubs you play. I have seen the slide show sigs though, some of the most annoying sigs I've ever seen. I think we should have a mouseover thing next to a persons name that will allow you see their gear instead of using sigs for that.
