Custom Putter

...where and how much?

I am looking into possibly getting a custom putter made. I have two styles that I'm contemplating at the moment. One is a TPA XVIII style that is a traditional heel shafted, mid-mallet. Another is a Santa Fe (Answer without the plumbers neck and less offset) that has a sound slot (or "beached"). Finish is not that important, and I could go with either carbon or stainless. It would also have to be a fairly heavy head as I would want a fairly short putter...in the 33.5" range.

A few questions:

Does anyone make a "retail" or production model of either of these?
Who would be able to do this?
About how much would it cost?
How long would this take?

Slighter has the Redmond, which is similar to the TPA XVIII, and Byron Morgan produced a GORGEOUS putter similar in shape and design. A member (kyle_m1) posted a thread detailing the making of that one here.

For the Santa Fe style, I personally love my Mills Tradition (360g), which is also an update of the Anser-style head and pocket arrangement. With the flattened, hybrid neck, you would be in business. I don't believe Mills does soundslots, but you could have it done elsewhere, I suppose. Slighter offers the Bellevue, and will beach it.

any idea on the price range of those putters? I would LOVE that exact same putter that Kyle got, but I'm going to guess that it's way out of my price range. I would like to keep it in the $200-250 range if possible.

I imagine the Byron was significantly higher than $250, as that was handmade from the ground up.

The Slighter Redmond would be more than $250 as well, but you should fill out the quote request form on his site. The turnaround on quote requests is amazingly quick (one of these days I swear I'm going to follow through and buy one...), and I think it would come in lower than a fully handmade Byron. There have been Redmonds in the B/S/T section of this site as well.
