Inherited these from my Grandfather and I cant find any information on them whatsoever.

Shafts are True Temper TT Lite if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

Prior to putting their own name on their components, Dynacraft clubheads had the words "Tour Model" on them.

Dynacraft is now part of Hireko.

These are probably from the mid 80s, which was the time of the short lived featherlite craze and clubs with B8 swingweights. No idea if these are that light. Some featherlites (the later ones) had swingweights as high as C6.

I do like the size and shape of that head and the sole width.

I saw a differently looking set of those at the local Good will, didn't buy em because of a missing 7 iron. They were these:

thats the "tour" version. mine are the "game improvment " version. these are a blast to hit. ball goes much further-faster and higher. woods are rockets too. heard stories of the shafts breaking due to their ultra light weight
The shafts were just the normal steel shafts of the day. Nothing special or extra lightweight. The TT Lite and Dynalite shafts (and private label patterns of similar weight) were about all that was available in the mid 80s, and they were just a hair lighter than Dynamic. Gold Plus didn't come along until the late 80s/early 90s if memory serves.

The low swingweights came from reduced weight in the heads.

Wonder how those Featherlites would play if one were to put some really light grips on them, in effect increasing the swingweight?

the shafts in these pelz models were indeed different. brunswick persion fm in ultra light weight. long out of production. i built my own light weight one iron to go with the pelz set. got the head and shaft from golfsmith back in 1990. shaft was so light you cant believe it. it was light as a feather so to speak. what gave the light club craze a black eye was other companys didnt build their light models the pelz way -using light heads -light grips and ultra light shafts. they took the easy way out just using a lighter head and other tricks to get the swing weight down. the plez clubs dont just weigh light on the swingweight scale-they are overall light in weight. you cant believe the increase in clubhead speed these generate. for me its almost 2 clubs diff in distance. its fun to feel like superman on the links -for a while at least. the increased speed only magnifyies every swing fault. i was warned these ultra light fm shafts are prone to breakage and to use caution.

I have an old Dynacraft DSFI listing where they list different iron shafts trimmed to a 5 iron length (stiff flex).

TT Lite: 104.3 grams (118.7 RAW)
TT Dynalite Gold: 105.8 grams (117.5 RAW)
Precision Ultralight FM: 97.8 grams (103.4 RAW)

So yes the FM were lighter but the difference only accounts for about 1 swingweight point over those above, and maybe 2 points compared to Dynamic Gold.

I don't think light grips were part of the featherweight craze. If you're trying to achieve a B8 swingweight, why would you use a light grip? You'd have to take even more weight out of the clubhead. Light grips raise swingweights.

BTW, Ram also used those FM shafts in their featherlite clubs.

I actually redid a set of those for a guy a few years back when we had the golf shop. he liked them because he had hit them when he was younger. I melted the beeswax looking stuff out of the heads and melted lead in them and smoothed them up and then installed a set of S400 shafts in them. this fellow was huge and muscular and he loved them. I never Swing weighted them on the scale because he liked them as they were. He moved somewhere down around Alabama and I have not seen or heard from him since

after pelz went bankrupt. -some of the remaining stock was converted to reg weight. i have the sand wedge version in reg weight. . just like what you did the amber colored stuff is replaced with lead or some form of silver metal. i havnt checked to see what shaft it has. . havnt hit the pro model but the game improvement one is a good desighn head. easy to hit and forgiving. ahead of its time as the cavity back was just comming into vogue. if i were ever to play in vintage golf competion-i would sneek the featherweight woods into competion. they are scary long!

thats a copy of a hogan radial iron. did you get the whole iron set?
if that was directed at me, yes. They seem very similar to the original posters set.
EDIT- You're right, i just looked up the radials, and they are almost identical. except for the text on the clubs of course. Mine say "Tour Issue" and "limited edition" on them. No brand though.

I really doubt that a poor seller would have stayed in the lineup for seven years.

The fact that there were so many copies of it says that it must have in fact been a very good seller.

I think it's an excellent design, one which has found it's way into many of the modern blades today (maybe not with the sole width, but with the camber).

Flat soled sharp edged blades were a result of manufacturing expediency, not great design. It was simply easier to make them. But it didn't make the game any easier, and a lot of the pros had them modified to make them more playable.

They might have been more passable in the days when the only nourishment a lot of fairways received was spilled beer, but today's conditions lead me to be very selective about choosing vintage blades.
