I did a side by side comparison today with Trackman and for me all the numbers was way better with AP3.

As a bonus the head look way smaller and comfortable behind the ball.

Opposite for me.

P790 blew AP3 away in looks, feel, and performance.

Which is why this stuff is so subjective and you need to hit them side by side yourself :)

I was getting a consistent 184 carry w/ the P790 7 iron, which for me is a long shot. I'd only reach 184 w/ my gamer irons if I hit a hard draw.

AP3 just kind of lacked any luster to me. They were shorter, felt a little clunkier. Looks wise @ address they're similar. However, in the bag the 790 looks a lot cooler!

I understand why someone would get better numbers with P790 and I also like the look of the clubs. I wish Titleist had gone that way with T-MB instead of this Tungsten placeholder color thing. I also liked the sound better in P790 than AP3, but all the actual numbers was better in AP3 for me.

But you can't say they're similar from address?

P790 has waaaay thicker top line and is looking a lot more like AP1 from address. AP3 look way more like AP2 from address.

Disclaimer though, I have only it 7-iron for both AP3 and P790.

I'm w Bomber I thought the 790s looked alot better than the AP3. The AP3 had no chance to make my bag based on looks alone. Alot more offset and bigger looking. Plus you can see the back of the cavity at address which is a big no no in my book.

I feel the same as Bomber on this one, P790 better all round than AP3. I also thought they were pretty similar at address!!

Got a chance to hit AP3 Amt black & p790 DG105 off turf today. Wow i liked the Ap3. I felt they looked slightly thinner at address vs the 790, they did have slightly more offset on the long irons but not too much. The short irons are what I liked most vs the 790. They sat perfectly at address and inspired confidence. I was able to dial in quite well, was able to hit knockdown shots and control the distance much better vs the 790. The mid & long irons although more offset i never felt the fear of hitting these long / left which is a no no in my game. Forgiveness was comparable, my miss tends to be off the toe, edge slightly to the 790, but ap3 much better than AP2 714.

Distance was comparable, with slight edge to P790. Dispersion for me was much much better with Ap3. Aim and fire with no fear of hitting left. Overall the AP3 was the winner for me. Although I can see why people like the 790's. Both are great sets.

Anyone had the chance to try both hitting off the turf? How do the short irons & long irons stack up? I have only seen the 7iron of AP3. Anxious to try.

Most of our customers like the P-790 because the distance plus the forged feel. We have noticed that the P-790 is longer in distance. As far as dispersion the AP3 seems to stand out.
