I absolutely love this ball. I call it the Charmin of golf balls because it feels so squeezably soft. Wonderful off the driver and 3 wood. But don't be fooled by its soft nature because this ball flies a long way -- it came in 6th in total distance in the Golf magazine test -- longest ball I have ever hit! You hardly feel it off your irons and yet it goes high and long. Around the green it is very controllable and off the putter it is responsive and simply wonderful. The only thing I can't comment on is its spin because I'm not good enough to spin a ball. If you haven't tried this ball, especially at $20 a dozen, you have missed out on a super bargain. Give it a try -- you will be glad you did!

I concur on the previous review. Just recently, I traded two dozen Nike One Blacks that spun too much for me and took five dozen of the IQ180s. It is an outstanding ball, very stable, good predictable spin, and excellent feel off the putter.

Have found the Precept IQ180 to be VERY long off the tee, with soft feel and reasonably-good greenside "manners" for a value ball. It appears, however, that parent company Bridgestone is replacing it with their new TreoSoft ball, which has the same 2-piece, Surlyn-cover construction.

A bargain ball that is good all around. I'm most surprised by its durability. I played 2 rounds with one ball and it hasn't scuffed. I prefer this ball over the HX Hot and NXT Tour. Similar performance, $10 cheaper, and doesn't chew up after 3 holes. Try it.

I asked Precept/Bridgestone: Other than labeling/cosmetics, what are the differences

between the Precept Distance iQ 180 and the Bridgestone Treosoft?

They replied: The TreoSoft has a softer cover and softer core. This will allow you to

see longer distances off the tee and have more feel around the green.

It has been a year since you made this post. The Precept IQ180 is still on the shelves in many stores. However, I have seen them moved to a different shelf.

What do you know about it's replacement? As you can tell, this is my ball too. I only have a dozen left. Should I stockpile?

I visited Golfsmith yesterday. I noticed that the Distance IQ 180 was [u]not[/u] on the shelf. The manager said that they did not make them anymore and Bridgestone, the parent company, was redirecting PRECEPT for only women's golfballs.

Interesting enough, the "so-called" Bridgestone replacement for the Distance IQ 180, the Bridgestone TreoSoft, was not on the shelf either.

Golf Galaxy had about 12 Distance IQ 180s left. I'll probably go and clean them out.
