Dunwoody Country Club Members?

Hey there - curious is there were any members of DCC here? I reached out to the club pro to ask about potential lessons (I’m not a member), and was told they do them, but would need a member sponsor. Know it’s a lot to ask a stranger, but figured this community would be a good start. Would be happy to have a conversation to describe myself, if it would be helpful. There could also be a nice bottle of wine in it for someone too. Thanks I’m advance for the help.

Best bet is to google Danny Elkins and/or Ted Fort for lessons in that area/ish.

Dunwoody is not exactly the most open and welcoming membership if you know what I mean.

DCC member here. I take offense at the comment that DCC is not welcoming. Did you have a bad experience there?

No, I was basically just trying to tell original poster not to bother with trying to get lessons at a private club where he wasnt a member.

And that asking someone on a message board to sponsor him at their own private club, (albiet Dunwoody which is a top tier exclusive club) probably would not result in much success.

So, in saying that DCC is not an open and welcoming membership I mean that they are exclusive, expensive, and not typically a great target for someone like original poster.

Welcoming _after_ you become a member, I'm sure they are. But their members are probably not gonna welcome this guy to come take a lesson at their club.

DCC is a great place and most of the members I have met were very nice. When I lived in the Dunwoody area I almost joined. The problem was that I needed to move to the Cobb area for the schools, but I have played quite a few times with different members and they were all great.

However......in general most private clubs are not the best place for an "outsider" to get and get lessons and most members aren't fans of outsiders coming in for lessons. I am not saying DCC is that way, but many private courses are.

yeah, I'll chime in since I started this discussion. I figured it was a long shot, but chose to "target" DCC mostly due to the proximity to my house. With a toddler and pregnant wife, being gone too long during the weekend is a non-starter (I already get a bit of leeway to go play from time to time). Soo.. figured i'd try my luck. Didn't work out, so I ended up choosing/going with Chris Asbell at the Georgia Golf Center (after having a few lessons with Ted Fort in Marietta), which does take about 35 minutes each way. Not the greatest, but it works.

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. Like any club, job or neighborhood, DCC has a few grumpy old men or folks you would not be friends with. However I feel that DCC has a great family atmosphere and overall has a "more the merrier" feel to it.
