Glacier National Park

Golfwrx has never steered me wrong in course reviews and suggestions so my Wife will be doing some work stuff at glacier national park. I’m planning on sneaking out. Looks like there’s 2 in the area. Anyone play these? Would it be worth it?

Of course we’ll be doing some hiking but like I mentioned, golf while she’s doing her work thing.

at the lodge? I have no idea honestly. I imagine that there's a lodge and/or housing for park employees. I heard something like "st Mary" and "whitefish" thrown around. I haven't done much research yet... I'm just told she's going there and that I'm probably tagging along. I looked up glacier national park golf on google map and only found a couple courses near it, Meadow Lake and Glacier View.

I only ask, because GNP is a big place. If you are on the east side then the answer is completely different than if you are lodging on the west side. Heck, you may put up in the rebuilt Sperry Chalet (if its done) and you won't be getting out of there to play golf. If you are lodging on the west side of the park there are a couple of good publics at Whitefish North/South. North is shorter and more "woodsy" and the South course is longer and feels a little more open to me but also more difficult. I also really enjoy Northern Pines which is nearer Kalispell. I don't love Buffalo Hills, but it could just be me, but it is a little funky. The super at Buffalo Hills, assuming he is still there, gets the greens really rolling so it would definitely be a test, it just doesn't fit my eye and some of the holes don't lay out in front of you. Hope this helps, and if you are on the east side of the park, this is probably the wrong answer...

Thanks and appreciate the response. I'll wait on my wife to see where they're putting us up. I did a little mapping on google and I see what you mean. If we're on the east at St.Mary's village, it's over an hour to drive back to the west side of the park to Glacier View course. Hoping we get a spot on the westside.

I know this is an old thread and you probably don't need the recommendation anymore but maybe someone else will find it useful. The Wilderness Club is one of the best courses I've ever played. It's about a hour north of Whitefish
