A Couple Highlights From Our Demo Day

Had the annual demo day at our club Friday. They set up on our range with reps from Titleist, Ping, Cobra, and a few others. I tried the i500 and i210 irons. Those 210s are very, very nice. Long, workable, great-feeling irons. I've been gaming JPX 900 forged and not switching, but I suggest that anybody who's looking at irons to take a few minutes with the 210s. My son, being the length-obsessed kid, tried two of the new drivers from Titleist and the Ping 410. The Ping was the winner for him. Long, high, and really consistent. If he asks for one I figure I'll get some lawn mowing and pool scrubbing out of the deal... I spent most of the time down at the end, out of the way, practicing shots. There was some guy there I've never seen before. About every 20 minutes he'd step up with one of the Ping drivers and just murder the ball...easily flying beyond the grass at the end of our range. Had to have been hitting the ball 320+. Our head pro and I just stood there watching him, "That's just pure speed." said Mike. Don't see a guy hit a ball like that very often.

It's always cool to see people with natural speed.

Saw David Duval hit 5 irons once.... looked like he was hitting 15 yard pitches.

There is this guy in Youtube, Harry Flower Golf, and his swing speeds are insane but he doesn't seem to really kill it. Very natural and looks comfortable.

Yeah, his fitting video at Callaway was pretty fun to watch. Great swing!
