Golf at the beach

Hey All,

I'm going to LBI with my family next week and looking to get a round or 2 in. I typically play Atlantis, the Ocean County Course and have been down in Cape May and played a few courses there. I'm looking for a change of pace this year and thinking of Seaview (most likely Bay course) or Brigatine links. Any suggestions or words of advice for those courses?

Thanks!

In terms of proximity, the best course is Sea Oaks in Little Egg Harbor but if you want to go down to the AC area, besides Seaview Bay, other great options include AC Country Club, Ballamor and Shore Gate. There are plenty of other decent options but those three would be tops. I'd stay away from Brigantine Links, it has the history but it's not in very good shape the last time I played it. There's a recent thread of someone asking for something similar. I was just down that way and played Twisted Dune in Little Egg Harbor. The greens were probably in the best shape of any new jersey public course I have played. Played Ballamor as well and that was in good shape as well but more expensive and the pace wasn't the best - surprising because they always have heavy rangering but they just were not doing much (I'm on the hole in one board there if you do go  )

Have played Shore Gate, Seaview (both courses) and Brigantine Links at some point over the last 5 years. All are nice courses, just bring the bug spray at the Bay course or at Brigantine Links. I'd still go Twisted Dune and Ballamor over those 3 personally.

Sea Oaks is not that far. It off exit 58 on the Parkway in Tuckerton and maybe 2-3 miles when you get off.

If you like giant greens, then you will love the course. It usually is in good shape.

+1 on Twisted Dunes. That is a cool course to play as well. Never played AC Country Club or Ballamoor, but have heard good things.

Atlantis golf course in little egg harbor. A George Fazio design and great looks off the tee at a great price. My only gripe at Atlantis is more level tee boxes and wish they rolled the greens daily. Played Sea Oaks a couple weeks ago and was beyond disappointed at what that course has become. Oaks is in terrible shape, a once very good track but they let it go. Ballamor is a fantastic course, twisted dunes has a great reputation. Vineyard National is a fun course with greens usually in very good shape. Harbor Pines and McCulloughs emerald links also are worth a visit.

Play either Seaview Bay or ACCC. Both are old courses and are fun. Seaview Bay is fairly easy but it's good layout and just a fun golf course. ACCC was bought last year (year before?) and is always in great shape. Little pricey for what it is but it's great course with the last 4 or 5 holes running along the bay. Used to play Ocean Acres when I had a place in LBI. Remembered it being a fun course but it could be a dog track today?

Hey,

I ended up playing Seaview Bay Course last Monday. The course was in great shape except for 2 patches on separate holes towards the back near the water, looked a little extra soft/wet. The greens and tees were great and it was my 1st time playing there so I loved it. The course was fun and challenging due to the rough, fescue and bunkers but not overly long. Facilities, amenities and staff there were all also TOP NOTCH. Will absolutely go back and play there again next year. I booked through Supreme Golf and got a slightly discounted rate for my 745am tee time. I wanted to play Twisted Dunes but their times were booked up for the mornings I was open to playing.

I then played the Ocean County Course, Atlantis. I've played this course probably 3-4 times over the past 3 summers and I think it was partially because I played Seaview earlier in the week but I was very disappointed with Atlantis. I'm used to older, crabby clubhouse staff and starters.....I play the Bergen County Courses....but the course was in rough shape along with the lack of customer service. Patchy or mostly dirt tee boxes, all of the collars of the greens and the fairways leading up to the greens were just punched or being punched while we played and the dirt was just left there so you had to play on or over the pellets from the machine. Very disappointed but you get what you pay for I guess.
