Off season golf school

Live and play in Maine. Our off season is typically November through mid-April. Golf buddy and I are brainstorming taking a trip near March or Feb and participate in a golf school some where warm. Looking for suggestions. Parameters would be that we will both likely be accompanied by wives and young children who will want to do other things (like sit on a beach and do nothing). Ideally the golf schooling aspect of this would “appear” to our wives as incidental to the trip as a whole, so staying at a facility would be tricky unless there is more there than golf.

I was just in Orlando for a trip to Universal Studios--I'd start there.

I did a quick google search and there is a Jack Nicholas school of golf right near there. Your wives could go to Universal and you two could go to the golf school. They could hang out in the City Walk and drink every type of margarita or cocktail known to man or venture in to the parks themselves for other fun things for the children.

Conversely, if your range is a bit more wide-open, @iteachgolf is about two hours from there, I think... I'm not super familiar with Florida though so don't quote me on that.

I was going to suggest going down to Jacksonville Beach and seeing Dan (iteachgolf) for a three half days session. You could stay at a hotel on the beach. It might be a little cool for the beach though. I went down in February one time and was scraping ice off my car in the morning. It was probably around 60 high though.

The one thing I would say is you're going to be rusty, so you may not get the most out of the sessions if you're shaking off rust rather than swinging your swing.

The Omni and Ritz resorts at Amelia Island have tons of family activities and are within striking distance of Dan. Tons of great golf on the island as well. In Feb/March itll be pretty nice there, but to have *guaranteed* super warm weather, you have too to S

FL (like Naples, see Steve Buzza down there?) or So Cal (maybe catch Monte?)

Unless you can legitimately practice regularly after the school save your ?. None of it would stick until you can. Spend time with your family on the winter vacation and take another trip on march to include the golf schools.

Dan is great but doubt they could use beach then. Do separate trips? Send the wives to the Bahamas while guys go to golf school,,,

Pinehurst has excellent off-season golf schools in November and March, but there's not much for kids to do there unless they like to spend all day in the spa.

Pretty sure monte is located close to Disney land in California. Heard that’s also cheaper than Disney world.
