New Level 902s vs Z785s

Currently gaming Z785s and considering some NL 902s. Any thoughts on how they stack up for people who have hit both?

I haven’t hit the Z785s but I have hit the 902’s. What I can say about the 902 is that they are a great set of clubs, fantastic feel and ball flight.

My only issue (and why I didn’t purchase them) was they are too long. I know that sounds silly but I have pretty well dialed in yardages and I hit a stock 6 iron 190ish. With the 902’s I was out at 205. For me that was too big of a jump and I was concerned where the gapping would come in; would I have 20 yards between each club or a 40 yard gap between wedges.

I ended up sending all of my fitting data to Eric at New Level and we build a set of 623 blades.

You won’t go far wrong with the New Level clubs and they have some great sales on right now.

902s are great irons. You will be very happy with them.

Just got the 902s, the feel is other worldly. I think they sit between the z785s and z585s. More forgiving than the z7s but a smaller package and less offset than the z5s.

I'm close to pulling the trigger on the 902s. I'm currently gaming 919 forged which I like and I want to support a smaller company. How do you feel overall about the 902s? I'm currently around an 8-12 hcp. Thanks!

I can not compare them but the 902s kicked the Bridgestone j15cb out of my bag and everyone knows those were legendary clubs.

Just got a combo set through Eric's advice last week coming from z745s with x7s. To me, they felt just as good as the 745s maybe even a touch softer and launched similarly. I think they are a tad longer even with the same lofts. All my range sessions and rounds with them have been great so far. Shot a low round with them last weekend. Should have been even lower except for some poor chipping decisions.

I bought the New Level irons just to give them a try and they quickly made it straight into the bag. I am very impressed with the product and even more impressed with the customer service.

Are they slightly shorter head to toe than the Z785? If they offer the same forgiveness as the 785 in a smaller footprint it would be awesome.

I had a set of 902's that I got on a trade in the BST. They were shafted with the wrong shaft for me, however I did hit them some and was amazed at how good they felt. I would put them above the Srixon z7's in feel which is saying something. I kind of wish I had kept them and re-shafted them. They look great, I've heard some complain about the amount of offset though. They are shorter in blade length than the z785, thicker topline, and thicker sole. Really a great looking and feeling set of irons.
