Hey Guys I need some advice.

Well 2 days before golf season I broke my femur, This year is my senior year and I was hitting the ball amazing. So this was the year for any scholarships. But now I cant swing a club for a couple months. My question is What should I do now, to make myself known to colleges? What kind of tournaments can I play now since Im 18? Im from oregon and I just dont know where to get info on tournaments. Any help is great, thanks alot.

Well...first off ask yourself..Are you good enough to get attention from Colleges?

Then AJGA events i know are good stepping stones for juniors, also I assume California has many junior tournaments just a google search away.

But before you do all that. ask yourself the first question...

If you have any film from last year or documented swing analysis, send them to schools you like. I'd also write several schools in the state and try to get coaches, club pros to vouch for you and have them write you some recommendations. Since you are out for a whole year, I'd look at some JUCO's in the California area, as well as in Florida, Georgia, S. Carolina, that have pretty reputable golf programs. Also, look into Division II or D-III schools, small schools like this can pave your way into larger programs. If you want it bad enough you can find some school that will take you.

Be prepared to sit on as a walk-on, anywhere you go. You are going to have to prove to the coaches that you can play. If I were you I'd jump all over it. What an opportunity!!!

Thanks fro the advice. I will definatly find some way. as to the first reply, if im at the top of my game i could be the best in my state easy. and when im playing bad i could be in the top 100. but i know i could attract colleges.

You Ony Need To Work On Consistency...........i mean best to top 100

the way i work on this is

say if i shoot 82

next time i shoot 81

next time i shoot 83

you take the highest score (i.e. 83)

then take the lowest score from that (i.e. 81)

83-81= 2

Your Consistency Rate Would Be 2 Shots Which Would Be EXTREMELY Good

And You Just Keep On Trying To Get It Down From There
