wilson FG being discontinued???

Last Saturday I picked up 5 dozen at Academy for $19.96, today they had them at $9.98 so I bought all of them (26 dozen). It seems that everyone is dropping their price which has me wondering if they (Wilson) are dropping the line or if they are releasing a new version, anyone hear anything?

Some of the twitter posts from Wilson have hinted towards a new FG ball, hence the price drops.

I wish I could find them for $10. That is a crazy deal.

I grabbed 5 dozens today, already have too many freaking golf balls, but a ball that I like at that price is just too much of a great deal to pass on.

My wife walked out to the garage and saw them and said are you planning a long trip?

I'll back the truck up to the door anywhere I find this ball selling for $10 a dozen.

I did 4 more Academy raids I now have a stash of 37 dozen, I did find out that Wilson is releasing a new FG in early 14, be interesting to see how it performs.

I may have a look at a new FG if its an improvement. Wont be picking up any current ones though, never liked em.

went by to order a few dozen to give away at a tourny that I am going to be a sponsor of... Wilson said they were not on sale from them, but a new ball was coming out.

So I hear that the FG ball will only come one way for 2014. No Tour and FG.Great blending of the two.
Dealer I spoke to said it was getting him better distance than the current ball and a ton of spin.He was allowed to test the ball.

100% worth the effort, what a great ball.

I myself have been able to procure Seven dozen from varying sources, that should last me until the 2014 ball hits shelves. Hopefully the 2014 is as good as the previous model. If it's somehow even better, all the other ball makers should be shaking at that concept. Improving on the current FG tour would be difficult at best in my opinion. It does everything I want it to do, exactly the way I want it to do it...and the price!? Just makes it all the better. 100% confident in saying that at the prices they are going for, it's the best deal in golf.

Froth, you need to help me out bro. I got several clubs w/ lead tape that would just repulse you. Help a guy out. I might send you a couple FG Tour blems for helping.

I just take my time and pre-cut it before I peel the backing off. One of my secrets is to smooth the tape out and push it into all the crevices with the end of the rubberized handle of needle nose pliers

Pull the weight plug and stuff it with cotton. That's what I did with my RBZ 17* FW

Wilson rep just left a sample of the new ball:

Feels decent off of a wedge, but haven't done any testing.

It is supposedly a 70 compression.

With a compression of 70, does that make it the lowest compression urethane ball?

Lowest compression urethane balls I see from test figures are:
Bridgestone 330RXS - 80
Z Star SL, Rocketballz - 85
330 RX - 86

FG Tour comes out 92 on test figures
