Zach Johnson useing a Cameron?

Did anyone notice that the pic of Zachs back he had a studio selects headcover in his bag?This must be a recent thing because as of last week at the Mercedes he had a Seemore fgp.

Thats what I was thinking.I know that the guys over at Seemore made him a special cover in Iowa colors for his FGP putter so that just is not a cover for his Seemore. I will call Ted tomorrow and he would know for sure.

I dont think he had a Cameron. That cover has been on his fgp for a while now. Here's a pic from a couple of months back of a different Cameron cover over the fgp. Just there for show.

Just a Scotty headcover over the SeeMore. Quite the opposite of the Nike headcover over Tiger's Scotty Cameron GSS Newport II putter.

I don't think Scotty cares too much about the headcover being on a Seemore. I'm pretty sure that the decision is Titleist's call. OEM's do this all the time. The woods don't always match what the headcover says, but the Company wants it to appear a certain way. Luke Donald jumps to mind, he used to always play Titleist woods, with Mizuno head covers because he is a Mizuno staffer. As always it comes down to money, Titleist may not require Zach to play a Scotty but they are paying him the big bucks so he will everything in his bag will appear to say Titleist, until of course the headcover comes off when he putts.

Scotty has tried to get him to use the 2.6, and Zach will not switch. He's been using the FGP for over 8 years. The golfers that stick with their equipment win big tournaments.

 

Plus, why would he switch from the RST on the SeeMore to just a red dot on the Scotty?

 

And, let's go with the "more money" idea if he puts the Titleist putter in play. He puts a Titleist in play, gets paid how much? OR HE COULD KEEP THE FGP, WIN TOURNAMENTS LIKE.....HMMM....THE MASTERS, AND I THINK THOSE ARE A LITTLE BIGGER PAY CHECKS!

Truth be told, the dots on the toplines of some of the older cameron putters such as the one in my sig were a Seemore design and they actually won a lawsuit against Scotty boy and now he can't use them for that purpose. Sooo with that said who's headcover is it? Definately NOT a Scotty!

titleist has tried to get zach to play scotty since he turned pro.

i am friends with his orignal teaching pro in iowa.

he has the original newport 2 cs that has xperimental on the sole

seemore is made of bronze not steel and gives it a totally different feel

he will never change.

imo i think the scotty cover just makes the bag look good...

its all about the looks.

Suing Acushnet takes a lot of $$$$. You can have your attorneys write letters, but if someone wants to infringe, you've got to make a decision - is it worth the $$$ to sue or do you take it as a high compliment that your idea is so good that this (in)famous putter guy will shamelessly adopt it.
