Looking for Putters Similar to Red X

I am currently assembling a secondary set of clubs to leave at my parents vacation home which I will use when I am there rather than traveling with my primary set. I will only be using this set for around 6-8 rounds a year, largely during my local offseason, so I am attempting to keep costs down. I already have the irons and wedges so it is time for me to start looking for putters.

My current putter is a 34" center shafted Scotty Cameron Red X which I have been using since 2004 or so and couldn't be more satisfied with it. I have a straight back pendulum putting motion and this Scotty really works well for me but due to costs buying a second one is not really an option.


I have only purchased two putters in the last 12 years and am very unfamiliar with what is out there compared to other equipment and was hoping to get a little direction. So far I have been looking a bit at the Odyessey center shafted #5. Are there any other similar putters to the Red X I am currently using which I may be able to find on the used/closeout market within a budget of $30-50?

If you like the putter so much just go ahead and see if you can find one on ebay for cheap. it seems the red x putters are the cheapest scotties i find on there.

SC Futura Phantom Mallet 2 Center Shafted...can find one used at good price. It's the only putter I've ever kept and I will only use CS mallets now. The only other putter I would look at is the Red X.

The new Yes! Lizzy Plus is nearly identical, but from the sounds of it going to be way over your price tag. The Odyssey Rossie or Tour #5 are quite similar. There's also a Gauge Design that looks quite similar, can't remember the name right off though.

I'm on a 34" odyssey Rossie II white hot that has been great. Might go to the slightly heavier tour model next year, or the Red X. Hope to try them both first...
