cart or stand bag for 13YO junior girl

My 15YO son would rather take a bullet than use a push cart so he has always carried and uses stand bags. My daughter is coming into her first set of adult clubs and a full bag. The only time she carries is at practice to and from the range, short game area etc. Once playing, she uses a push cart or they get loaded on a buggy for practice rounds. I'm thinking a cart bag may be better for her practically speaking and the choices for ladies are 1000/1 cart over carry. No I have not asked her her preference as I was trying to surprise her. My gut says she would still want a stand bag.

What do your girls use and why?

Give the kids what they want because they have peer pressure. Encourage your daughter to use a push cart, but leave it to her for decision making. A carrying bag could also work on the push cart if she changes her mind.

Get the lightest carrying bag for them and teach them to manage the bag according to the golf course payout, so they won't need to carry a full set of 14 clubs plus all the other junks ( I know golfers whom kept all the golf balls they had found on the golf course in their golf bag, like more than 4 dozens ).

The weight on the shoulders is not exactly what's healthy for a growing person's back and posture, on top of the golf swing which could cause some premature wear and tear.

 

My friend's son whom had always like to ride the golf cart because it's cool and easy, until he got into the High School Golf Team, where walking and carrying the golf bag is required for tournament play. Funny thing was, he also walked the practice rounds with his friends because none of them were riding.

My daughter is 11 and she uses a pushcart. Her bag is Sun Mountain stand bag and it works just fine on the push cart. I would go with the stand bag because of its versatility. The only advantage that the cart bag has is that has more space to put stuff. Most of the time you don't need to carry all that stuff so the stand bag ends up being the better choice.

Get a stand bag for sure just make sure you get one that is light . Yes you should use a push cart as much as possible but I find there are times were we just go to the range and the stand bag is a better option. I brought a cart bag for myself and I hate it when I am using the range.

 

The other reason a stand bag is better is in case your cart breaks during a round or you were absent minded and need to actually carry a bag during a tournament. Hasn't happened yet but I always worry about that scenario too.

I use a Sunday size bag on my push cart, with a umbrella to help keep the shape. I have a tendency to put something in every pocket.
