FJ majorly improved on the previous versions. There's no more squeak from the sole, they feel lighter and more stable, they gave the tongue a little bit of stretch which makes it more comfortable, and the BOA system is better (turn left to loosen rather than pulling the BOA knob out and re-tightening to your liking, which isn't a huge deal but it's a really convenient feature).

How is the durability of BOA system? How often does it have to be replaced and how much is the replacement?

Bought mine before a big golf trip last weekend. I have to say that they are very comfortable so far and had to size down a half size. Grip is much better than my previous pair of nikes (Not sure of model). I really like how much easier it was to roll onto the side of my lead foot in comparison to the Lunar Control or Vapor which I nearly purchased. That was the deciding factor for me.

Size down half size? They run big? I assume they do stretch slightly over time?

I think they run similar to other footjoy; I'm normally 9 in under armour and nike and got 8.5 in the pro sl and just ordered a pair of helix in the same size with some pro shop credits. I'll try to post some comments later.

I've had a few pairs of FJ's with the BOA system for a couple years now and I haven't had any issues.

I really like the stability and styling of Helix BOA but I'm in between sizes. 9 fits little loose and 8.5 fits snug. I've always bought size 9 in Footjoy and it fits like a glove, but in recent years, I just can't seem to find that great fit anymore.

I wear a size 13 and weigh 250 pounds, so this might not be a problem for smaller golfers. I used these shoes the last half of the year and will not be using them anymore because of the damage they do to greens. The beds that the spikes go into are so tall that they leave deep depressions in the green on every step. I got a lot of negative feedback from groups behind me and my playing partners about all the damage to the greens. I walked as gingerly as I could but there was no way to avoid it. I wrote to Footjoy about the problem and they could not have taken it less seriously (shoutout to Jason Conners).
