Phoenix/Scottsdale/Mesa Area Lodging

Good day everyone. Buddy and I are escaping cold Illinois to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area Feb. 13th-17th for nothing but golf. We plan on renting a place on Airbnb or VRBO, but don't know exactly where we should focus our attention. We don't know exactly where we are going to play yet as they will be mainly mid-price course; as long as we are playing is the main thing. What would be a good area for us to concentrate our focus on in looking for a place to stay? Doesn't have to be to specific as well as could just name some places not to stay as well. A little vague. Since that is absolute peak season, prices will be maxed. $200-$300 for the top tier courses, pushing $100 even for bargains. Deciding where you are likely to play is probably your first consideration, then you can look at the nearby housing options. (Almost) no matter where you plan to play, driving, even of some distance, is likely to be needed. Can you outline your budget for golf courses, that's probably where to start?

just stay in Sth Sottsdale and you'll be fine where ever you want to play. You have to drive no matter what if you want to get good courses. St Scotts will give you close proximity to restaurants, bars, shopping and golf in any direction.

We totally understand it is peak season and have made a decision to make our course selections around $100 or so. We are renting a car and will have access to travel wherever as well. We have also decided to play at least one high end and very nice course (I am pushing for a so-called desert course with mountains in the background and nice and green). We are still looking at courses to play and haven’t really made decisions yet. Sorry.

I would stay in Arcadia or old town Scottsdale. Essentially anything north of a Thomas and between 44th street and the 101. Close to Papago, Phoenician, Mountain Shadows, Camelback, Talking Stick and good access to all the freeways. Nice selection of restaurants and bars nearby as well.
