North Myrtle trip Feb 16, 17 and 18th help!

As of right now it will be just me playing unless my buddy can get the OK from his wife. So if anyone else is going to be there on those days and needs 1 or 2 players , let me know. This was a last minute thing that came up so I am not sure how I should go about getting tee times. Is it better to buy a 3 round package through one of the websites or should I just do last minute tee times with Golfnow? I am not really picky on which courses I play but would love to play Kings North or Tidewater. Pine Lakes is another one I thought might be kind of fun to play but I have not heard a lot about that track. Any recommendations would great!

thanks

These courses were recommended to me by a guy who lives there about half the year and I'll be playing them during an upcoming trip in May

River Hills - Little River, SC, Farmstead - Calabash, NC, Leopard's Chase - Ocean Isle Beach, NC

I've played down there numerous times and I've really enjoyed the courses below.

Barefoot Dye & Fazio, Tidewater, Rivers Edge (NC), Crow Creek (NC).

To book, I've used the "build your own" feature through https://www.glensgolfvacations.com/. I've also worked with Jason there who is extremely helpful. They offer stay and play or tee time only offerings with a pretty good list of courses they offer times at.

Good luck!

With Golfnow, you will generally only get low end courses in MB, although in Feb, maybe some better courses will be in there.

Also look at www.TeeUpTomorrow.com They will have most of the courses. The tee time desk in PGA Superstore is the same company as that site.

If you want a more set schedule, contact Brian, the owner of www.MyrtleBeachGolfTalk.com This way, you can pick the courses and get paired up

with set tee times on the courses you want.

Kings North, Grande Dunes, TPC, Tidewater are some of the top courses. Pine Lakes is an old style, so not too unique, unless you prefer that.

Thanks guys. We are still not sure what we are doing yet. It looks like the weather might be a little iffy and we don't want to get locked into a tee time and not be able to get our money back. So last minute tee times might be best for us since it is only 2 of us.

Looks like I will need rain gear instead of shorts!

I agree with Art, if you want to book ahead even as a single www.myrtlebeachgolfpackagers.com Brian is great.

I like your Tidewater, Kings North and Pine Lakes. You can Grande Dunes and TPC also.

Since my buddy is driving 4 hours from the beach in North Carolina to Myrtle, we decided to just play Sandpiper Bay in NC as our first round on Sunday. It gets decent reviews and was fairly cheap and includes range balls. We are planning on playing all 27 and maybe another 9 after that(time permitting). We figured it would be a good course to get warmed up with before tackling The Barefoot Dye course Monday morning and then the Love or Fazio in the afternoon. We are then finishing our trip with Mike at The Dunes Club (thanks Mike!). We are hoping to just play there until it is too dark to play!

It is supposed to be in the single digit temps here in Ohio on Friday and Saturday, so I can't wait!!!!!

Awesome! The weather cooperated pretty well. I wore shorts on Monday ?

We played Sandpiper bay in the morning on Sunday which was cheap but well worth it. Greens were excellent and it was a pretty fun layout.

We then got a tee time at the Thistle in the afternoon for $62! That course is amazing! Definitely one of the best in the area!

So on Monday we hit the Barefoot Dye course in the morning and the Fazio course in the afternoon. Absolutely phenomenal courses. I love all those courses!

Tuesday we played with Mike at the Dunes Club. I see why it is rated 54 in the top 100 you can play list! Greens are lightning fast and the layout is great. Way more elevation changes than any course I have played in MB. If you ever get a chance to play it, don't pass it up!

It started to rain just as we finished 18 so as sore as we were from playing 90 holes in 3 days we decided to call it a day. I wish I would have hit the ball better on the trip, but I shouldn't be too hard on myself as I have not played a round of golf since the end of September! So to play that many holes 3 days was a bit much. Needless to say, I had to hit up the massage place on Tuesday evening!

The Dye course is definitely the better of the 2. Also it is much tougher than the Fazio. Having never played it before it is very hard to pick out your lines on a lot of holes. Some holes it looks like your just hitting into a bunch of sand traps and there is no fairway. But of course there is fairway :-) The Fazio is a little more right in front you. You can't go wrong playing either of them, but if the price is about equal I would pick the Dye course.
