Golf Instructor

I'm fairly new to the group, and met quite of few of you at the course in the Woodlands this week.

 

Seeing that my game suffers quite a bit, I was curious to know from the group who you all might suggest as a golf instructor for a novice. My average score is around 100 on a good day, best round was an 89.

 

Wedges and irons eat my lunch, so I think I would like to focus on getting my short game improved.

 

I live in Pearland, and have a Players Club membership at Southwyck which comes with group instructions from David Esch, but I have not taken any of those lessons.

 

Any input would be awesome.

Michael,

It was a good time Wednesday. Start with the group lessons and see what you think of the instructor. You may hit it off and he may be the guy for you. Unfortunately, the only guy I knew on the south side of town has gone off to California.

P.S. Don't listen to that guy you rode to The Woodlands with!!!

Sean did get me down a few strokes but I've plateau'd and looking for that next thing that takes a few strokes off my game.

Thinking if I learn how to hit wedges and/or chip/pitch better, that should do just fine.

The video you gave me has given me some real helpful things that I can try at home and on my next round Friday.

Mike - you can try Brian Smith over at Clear Creek or Neil Wilkins at Sienna Plantation, both guys are well known in the area and I have heard good things about them, I have personally not used them but I wouldn't hesitate to give them a try if I didnt get along with Bruce Olson over at pecan grove.
