Lamkin UTX grip alternative

Been gaming the UTX's for years now but with price increases it is hard to justify, so I am looking for cheaper alternatives. I'm in TX and play without a glove so I need a good grip that can hold up to sweat and humidity and provide great tack like the UTX does. Anything similar out there worth looking at?

Hate to tell you there isn’t one, but there isn’t one. Longtime UTX user, nothing compares. If you don’t wear a glove and are playing in hot weather cutting corners will do you no good. I’m in south Florida and deal with heat and humidity on a regular basis. These are the best grips going. Agreed the pricing stinks but everything in this game is expensive. There is a reason the Lamkin UTX is popular on tour and for a wide population of golfers. They are just great grips.

Iomic Sticky has more tack than UTX.

There's a cord version on the website but it's been out of stock for months, so not sure if it truly exists.

Edit - just looked they're im stock. Probably gonna have to try them.

Tour Velvet Full Cord or Lamkin Crossline Cord are both very steady performers in sweaty weather, a little rough on the hands though. Next notch up is the Z-grip Cord but it is REALLY rough on the hands.

How much of a price increase? It’s still cheaper than most full cord models from golf pride and other companies.

Iomic is pretty costly for the durability though.. may not serve the purpose OP is searching for.

well they seem to be about $10 a piece these days. I remember a handful of years ago they were one of the cheaper grips Lamkin made. around $6 or so a piece.

I don't think you're going to find anything similar for a cheaper price from Golf Pride or SuperStroke. The Iomic suggested might do the trick, but I've never tried it before. The UTx is a really good grip, and it's my favorite grip after the Crossline Cord. None of the cord options from the main brands offered at Golf Galaxy, Dick's or PGA are as tacky as the UTx.

Royal LinkTech full cord under $6 a grip and they are good quality, I use them and live in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida

They are a bit reduced taper, although they don’t mention that. Somewhere like +1 up top and +2-1/2 on bottom, going by my feel, not a measurement so YMMV

Softer than a Lamkin Crossline cord, with less cord, but much firmer than a Winn Dri-Tac ……. I’ve never played the UTX so I can’t compare, but the Royal LinkTech seems like it’s in the ballpark after reading about the UTX online
