Has anyone bought off of Rakuten?

I found the MPR4 on Rakuten with the exact specs I wanted. I paid for the item and received a confirmation email.

 

In the email it said the postage will be calculated later. Then a few weird things happened. The confirmation email deleted itself from my inbox and deleted bin. And it has been over 24 hours and I have not received a shipping price.

 

Does anyone know the typical protocol in buying from Rakuten? How long does it take to get clubs from them?

That's not usual.

I'd contact the store in question. Rakuten is like Ebay, the hoster. The individual store you purchased from will be the one with the info.

Keep in mind that with some of the stores, they're not keen to sell outside of Asia so might have cancelled the order on you once they found out where you're located. Still, first step is to contact the store.

A weird thing is happening. The seller contacted me and said that it will be made to spec, and then shipped in 3 weeks. I closed my email and opened it back up and the email disappeared. The initial confirmation email disappeared too after 10 minutes. Have you ever ran into that? International emails?!?

Self deleting emails are a problem.

If you receive any other communication....make sure to print a hard copy while you have it open.

I found it, I just setup a gmail account and did not realize they auto place opened emails in a separate folder.

I can't wait for these to come in...!

i have friends that have i always check the goodies and am
usually discouraged by all the procedures when its time to check out.
I'm sure il get it right one day:) just lack initiative at the moment.

Just bought a set of Yamaha Tour CB and Titleist cold forged wedge from the same seller. The communications were not as fast as buying from eBay sellers, but overall was good transaction. The shipping was really fast, like 3 days to southern Cal. The tracking feature was fantastic, it would tell you when the items are in custom and it's on its way. The price, including shipping, was very good.

about 2 years ago i found some matching headcovers to my adidas tour ag black and white stand bag at rakuten but it was all in japanese but i just took a risk and guessed on the words and ordered the driver cover first..

it cost about $50 and decided it was worth the risk..

it arrived at the PO after a week and decided to order the matching 3-wood cover next and it too arrived without any problem..

i haven't ordered anything since until i learn to read japanese!!

Sounds like you got your answer but I've bought a few things off rakuten now and it's always been confusing and painful. In the end, the prices and stock are worth it to me. I wouldn't be concerned with your story.

Rakuten is a great place to buy JDM at discounted prices. There are apps you can install that will translate for you. I believe mine is a microsoft app.

Japamart is very cool as well. Japan version of EBay auction style. I picked up a Callaway Legacy black driver with GD BB for less than $300. Very well priced JDM products. I wish I had known about this site sooner.
