Really tough question Mitchell. It came with a BestGrips leather grip, which I would love to keep. I have to see if I can pull the grip and then cut it. If I have to cut the grip then i don't know what grip I'm gonna use. Considering going to BestGrips to get another leather grip, or maybe an Iomic putter grip which I've used in the past. I don't think I'll be using a SuperStroke like I'm using on my Tour Stock.

Also, bad news...I think I caved in the face for my XHot Pro 15* fairway wood, which I found extremely surprising because of my wimpy swing speed. Shipped it off the Callaway and am awaiting their response. From what I've read about their customer service, I'm sure everything will settle painlessly. Will let you guys know what happens!

Sorry to hear about the Callaway, unfortunately this has been an issue for a few players, fortunately- customer service tends to resolve issue quickly. Just a heads up, some players have encountered an issue with Callaway being less than diligent in matching original swingweight when replacing heads on upgraded shafts due to failure to replace tip weight- you may want to call and have a note added to return/repair order.

Mitchell, thanks for the heads up! Unfortunately for me I bought mine at stock length and then had it cut to 42" and didn't know or care for what swing weight was back then. So it's a bit of a shot in the dark for me now. I'm hoping they give me an update soon!

When I was first thinking about getting a hybrid replacement, I immediately went to Adams because it's a hybrid and it's Adams. Upon looking at their website they make the Pro hybrid to look to be huge, when in reality it's actually very small. I originally thought I was going to be using a Pro Mini or a Pro DHY but upon comparing everything in front of me I thought the other two looked way too small, and not hybrid like.

I hit the other two well, but wasn't happy with the launch I was getting. I had a fair amount of troubling getting my 3 and 4 iron into the air, so I figured I would need as much help as possible. Hence the tour red which launched the ball right where I needed it, and the slightly higher launch Pro hybrid head has been working wonders.

Mine are cut down to iron length and I love it. Only thing I'm considering doing is pulling the recoil proto shafts from my iron heads and putting them into the hybrids. Mostly because of the shaft weight, where the tour red is 75 and my irons are 110. Not to mention my fairway shaft was actually a heavier weight class. Anyway, I'll let you know what I end up doing shaft wise. But right now they're not going anywhere.

Good info thanks. I am very curious about the Adams Pro - think they look great and like the smaller profile. I am a bit of a Ping homer and love the i25 hybrid (smaller footprint). Was there much of a difference between the launch of the Pro and Pro Mini?

Oh there was absolutely a noticeable launch difference. I can't remember the exact number but I'm guessing it was something of 1.5-2*. I remember however on the monitor showing the arc I could clearly see the difference in flight and height, and that sold me the Pro.

Thanks Richard! I decided I wasn't man enough for the 3 and 4 iron, a little help with launch, distance, and forgiveness is never a bad thing. Actually just got the Pro hybrids reshafted with the Tour Issue Recoil 110 Prototypes, so they're all matching again, yay!

If you ever make the trek out to NYC we'll get a round together at Bethpage!

Thanks for the compliments! I mostly bought it because of its resemblance to the Anser and the No word from Callaway since last week, should be here on Thursday. Unforunately, I haven't had the chance to play the DW 60* as I stupidly had it shipped to my house instead of my current residence. I'm meeting up with my family this weekend for a wedding so I'll have my parents bring it with them. Can't wait to put it in play though!

I love it too, played 9 holes today with it. 15 putts and 3 birdies, felt great off the face maybe a tad long for me but nothing I cant deal with

How are the shaft changes to hybrids working for you? Are you seeing performance difference in the replacement fairway wood combination?
With the distinctly different styles of your putters, are you finding one to suit your game/stroke/eye more favorably than the rest?

Thanks man! Got another one coming in next week, really excited! Well I caved in the bottom half of the face on my XHot Pro fairway awhile back, but didn't really consider it as a problem until I noticed some strangely poor results from slightly thin hits.

Big shout to Callaway CS who sent me a X2HP with the Tour AD-DI. They really stood up to the reputation they've been given on here.

Anyway, I've only put it in play for a few rounds, but I definitely do like it. The sound off the face is a little different than the XHot Pro, but that might have been the caved in face sound that I was used to. It's a little louder, but still a nice thwack. Shape is pretty similar, nothing that I can really notice there. Although I think in certain lights, the line across the crown where the cup face meets the crown is visible. I'm really liking the shaft too, though I wish it launched a hair higher.

Awesome I'm thinking about grabbing a 17 degree version there's a 217 yard par 3 that I just can't reach at my course with my 2 iron so I'm thinking the X2HP will do the trick!

Haven't put them in play yet. Hopefully going to the range tomorrow to give some initial testing. I can say that Recoils in the hybrids were awesome. Maybe it was the fact I switched to hybrids, but I was deadly accurate with them. Draw, fade, high, low, it was fairly point and shoot for me. From the waggle test, the Recoils didn't give much. The iRoD shafts have slightly more give on the waggle, though I haven't seen real life results. The guy I spoke with told me they should launch a little higher than the Recoil Protos because they're lighter weight and designed towards hybrids. What's the point of having hybrids that don't launch high? When in Rome.

Not sure about the fairway wood yet to be honest. I don't hit fairway wood a lot, but I noticed that I was pretty consistent with it in comparison. Probably just my swing being more grooved, but it's nice to have confidence in the club. It was kind of in my head that I thought the XHot Pro was caved in, and I think it messed with a couple shots. I've noticed that my consistency has gone way up on the range in comparison.

Putters, oh the putter conundrum. I'm pretty sure I'm getting into the expensive habit of collecting putters. With a few carpet rolls with the BB54, I've seen a lot of consistency with the rolls. I think it fits my stroke pretty well, because I feel like I'm not fighting the putter opening or closing or anything like that at all. What I can say though, is it feels a little strange going back and through, because the CG is much further away from the plane of the shaft. It's different than what I'm used to. Comparing all three putters to the BB54 Proto, the Tour Stock has that feeling but only slightly, and the Anser-style doesn't have that at all.

There's a huge difference in sound between the 3 putters. The MC-Series, when hit in the middle and on the correct line, is unbelievable. I absolutely love the feel is produces, though I don't think I'm nearly consistent enough with it. The mid mallet has a more muted sound and feel in comparison to the MC-Series, which I've been using consistently for some time now and am accustomed to. In comparison to those, the BB54 Prototype has an even more muted sound and feel. So much so that I think before play, I'll need to roll it several times to grow accustomed to it's sound and feel and the respective distances it produces.

I have noticed however, when I'm putting inside on the carpet with walls around me and such, it's much easier to recognize and distinguish between the sounds of the putters. But when I go outside, it's much more learning how far a ball rolls based on how far I take the putter back than the sound and feel of the putter itself. So we'll see what happens! I can say so far that the forgiveness of the BB54 Prototype is very very nice.

Any idea what shaft you're gonna throw in there? I want to try the 17 but I'm concerned that with the low kick point shafts that I do well with it will just launch too high and not get enough carry.

Probably a matrix radix 7 in senior flex if I can find one. I've figured out senior flex gives me awesome results!

Well thought out response regarding the putters. Personally tried the BB54 since two different guys that play with regularly have them and I liked the regular honeycomb milling much better than fit face due to better distance control, your results may differ.
