how to keep it in good condition

Hey guys,

I plan on buying a circa 62 #2 soon and I really want to keep it in good shape and not have it rust on me so I have a few questions. The majority of the time I play in the early mornings when there is still dew on the greens so how can I keep the putter and the inside of the headcover dry? After a round what should I do to the putter and how often do I need to use baby oil on it and what effect does this have on the putter? And please let me know of anything else I need to know.

General consensus is electrician's grade silicone spray in the headcover and then after the round.

Yup. I make sure I spray the head before I leave the house and also load up the headcover every couple weeks or so. Be careful not to get it on your hands because that crap is really slick and a PITA to get off. I use CRC's electrical grade silicone spray (bought at Lowes in electrical supply section - blue can). I read on one of the many Cameron sites that you eant to make sure that there are not any petroleum products in the spray because somehow that will actually promote stripping of the finish. I guess that explains why my old Oilcan years ago literally turned silver when I played on newly fertilized greens. I lost my claening cloth so I sprayed a bunch of WD-40 in the head. Bad idea I found out. :drinks:
