TM Superquad TP 1st Edition Question

No serial number. Is that right?

I'm interested in a TM Superquad TP 1st edition driver (head only) and I emailed a person who has one for sale asking him for the serial number. He said:

"THIS is only the Head, not a Club with Shaft.
Taylormade assigns Serial Numbers to completed
clubs, not for piece parts. "

Is he correct or full of $#!T?

Please help and thanks in advance.

With that answer..........I would buy from someone else who is selling the item on Facts YOU know to be true about the item........If your second guessing his comment, pass on it............plenty more where that one came from.

Plenty more where that came from is right TMBob but not at the price he's offering. That's the dilemma. This is a heck of a deal if he's right that TM doesn't place serial numbers on their heads.

 

However, I've never heard that before. Any other opinions whether his statement is true?

there are serial numbers on heads just like there are txxx numbers on tour heads- in the tour truck they take the head and put a shaft in it, the shaft can come from anywhere, but the heads come from the factory, he is clearly hiding someting or lying, good luck

a couple things could have happened.

 

it was stolen before the serial # was put on...

 

I headrd they were manufactured over seas and when sent back to TM then the #'s were put on.

I say do not buy it. Counterfits are being made all the time. I know 2 people who got the same deal for under $200 and they were fake accoriding to TM. Now TM can just be saying this to cover their a** or it is really fake. Just think, all the time put into a fake head! Thats a lot of work!
