Touring pros....

where do you play?

I'm quite curious as to where any touring pros play who post on the boards. It seems likely that I will turn pro possibly later next year, and I'm curious about where to play. Also, do you have full time jobs, part time jobs, sponsors, no money etc... I would imagine a full time job would cut greatly into any playing/practice time that would be needed to get anywhere in the game. Anyway, if anyone wanted to shed some insight into the life, either here or PM me I would greatly appreciate it.

What is you handicap tickyboy. Just wanting an indication of what handicap you ideally need to be to turn pro.

At the moment not that low, but I think if I was able to play on a regular basis right now I'd be around a +3

no offense, but it'll take a lot more than that. anyone can shoot some low scores once in a while, but you need tournament exprerience. you need to be able to shoot 65 in tournament play.

I know that...I'm not concerned with what I've shot previously or anything, I'm developing a highly repeatable swing and developing a consistent gameplan. I know I can make it, but I need to start somewhere.

Ataboy tickyboy, go get em. If you were here in Texas you could go to Viccaro and get in the game. Think it's about a qtr. million to join, or you can buy a home for about 3 million and they'lle give you a membership. Gotta start somewhere.

I agree if you think a LEGIT +3 can compete on a strong mimi-tour, you will be dissapointed, however there is no shame in trying.

I've been on the circuit and later caddied in tour events and I can tell you that, as a real +3 handicap, you would do well to compete in a strong state amateur.

EXACTLY! You need to start somewhere and get some experience. Keep up the hard work and it'll pay off eventually. Do you play a lot of different courses, or do you normally play at a "home" course?

Practice hard and try local qualifiers. Go live the dream. It does not hurt to try because if you don't you will always regret it. It does not hurt to try.

You only live once and if your heart is set on turning pro then go for it. Practice like crazy, especially your short game. I wish you the best of luck and if you put in the work it will pay off.
