Jumped in front Bubba

I usually hit a couple of bucket of balls and walk the last three holes a few days a week since 16 is near the driving range at our club. I was walking up to the tee and noticed a fivesome coming up 14. I teed off and looked over and noticed it was Bubba Watson, his brother, and a few members of the club walking up to the green. Since 15 is a short par 3 I hurried down the fairway as not to get in their way. I finished the hole and looked back and they were just getting to the green on the par three. On 17 I hit my normal two balls off the tee and played both balls. As I was heading to 18 I was watching Bubba hit his tee shot on 17 which is a 375 slight dogleg right with a creek up front. We had about a 15 mph wind a little left to right today and Bubba landed pin high a little right of the green. Good thing he didn't push it or I would of been in trouble.

Thats a pretty cool story. That guy can flat out hit it.

One of the guys I play with also hits it a mile. His swing is around the 130 range like Woods and Bubba. It sucks when I nut one and he still knocks it by me by 30 yards. LOL Hopefully this year after tons of working out and stretching everyday for the last 6 months I can catch up a bit. LOL

Bubbas' driving skills are truely amazing!

A friend and myself went to the Buick here at Torrey Pines earlier this year and I was showing him around the course when I noticed that the next group on the tee we were near included Bubba Watson. My friend really wanted to see Tiger but I told him he has to wait and watch this kid drive the ball. Bubba walks up to the 18th hole on the South course and absolutely smacks the ball, dead center and I'd swear it had to have been around 345 or so. After the ball lands I look back at my friend and his jaw is still gaping wide open and all he could muster out was "holy #%^"..... LOL. The next day at work, he talked more about Bubba's drive than seeing any of the other golfers or the celebrities walking around.

Last year during a practice round at Colonial, Bubba approached the 10th tee for the first time. The number 2 handicap hole on the course, 10 is a relatively straight par 4 where the pro's usually hit a mid to long iron off the tee to the fairway. The fairway stops and there is a large ditch which actually plays as a hazard. To lay up, you need to hit it 240 or less. From there, it is a very tight shot past some trees into a well protected green that slopes more than most on the course.

 

Someone on the tee informed Bubba of this to which he replied "how far to carry?". The volunteer on the tee didn't know, but assumed at least 360. Bubba pulls out that pink shafted driver and bombed it up just in front of the green.

 

Played with the same recklessness when the tournament rounds started, firing a nice 65 on Thursday. Kept hitting driver on Friday and shot 77 to miss the cut by 1. I don't thinkhe kept hitting driver on 10 though. Still hit some of the largest drives I've ever seen.

Last summer, I decided that I was going to walk, this was something that I hadn't done in a couple of years. I got to the first green, and saw that a foursome of a few school kids were teeing up behind me. I could tell that the first few guys couldn't play very well, so i wasn't worried about staying in front. I played the first four holes 1 under, and was playing pretty good. I am getting ready to go off five, and can see that group behind me, then I see this one ball off the tee, and it is like 110 past the rest of the group. I get to my ball and look over to four at the other guys hitting their second shots. JB Holmes is playing with some of his friends.

The next few holes, a couple of his friends quit playing, and drink some more beer, so they played faster. So I am putting and start seeing balls sitting in places I haven't seen them before. I bogey the next few holes because I am worried about slowing them down. Needless to say, I now know what it must feel like to be the hack and me and some of the groups I play with play behind them.

 

Fun day, And I never slowed them down all day. It did throw me off for about four holes though.

Id stop playing, hide in some trees, and watch Jb or Bubba all the way round and learn some stuff!

In the 2005 Qatar Masters on the Monday before the tournament, me a nd a few friends were just hangin around on the range trying to get players to caddy for in the tournament. Round the corner comes Jiminez, with his huge shoulders and fat cigar and goes, boys we need caddies, so me and 2 mates said sure and followed him to the 10th tee for a quick 9 hole practice.

Off we went Jminez, Cabrrera and Jose Manuel Lara and my 3 mates all of us in 7th heaven.

We get to the Par4 13th, llong hole about 210 over water into the wind. The threepros all hit off, 2 on the green and one in the bunker... as we were about to walk away, Jimiez turns round and goes "now your turn" to us, so hehands us each a brand new titlesit players golf, PRO V1 each and a tee with a spansih flag, then says choose a club and beat those shots.

So we choose the clubs and we all ended up hitting the green Jimiez clubs, they must have been magic!

Never have i had a chnace like that again! A seriously good guy!
