What are the odds?

I played todays round with my typical threesome. On the 7th hole par 4 one person in my group holed his second approach from about 175 yard for an eagle. On the 11th hole par 5 I holed my second shot from 197 yards for an double eagle, then the third guy in my group on the same hole holed his third shot from 110 yard for an eagle. My only comment after we finished laughing was "How many times will you hole out for eagle and still lose the hole." All three people holing shots from the fairway. Two for eagle, one for double eagle (mine :) ). And two coming on the same hole. What are the odds? Needless to say it was my first double eagle.

Anyone ever experience anything as crazy as that?

What course were you playing? I lived in Augusta for a while, so great public courses around that area.

It was at Bartram Trail, the new one off of Columbia Rd. Only been open about a year or two.

What makes things so nuts is that I shot 65 on the same course yesterday with 4 birdies and an eagle.Today I shoot even par with a double eagle. The tale of two days. I hit 17/18 green yesterday and only 11/18 greens today. The game of golf can be so cruel sometimes. :)

Put it this way the odds of an astroid hitting Earth tomorrow are probably better.

congrats on the double eagle. Tough group, losing a hole with an eagle, I don't think I'd want to play with you guys. LOL

I have had something close before. I stuck my second on a long par 5 to about 3 feet. only to have the other two guys in my group hit theirs closer.

Hmmm... have to check that one out. There was a group of guys from where I was working that would go to a different course every weekend. Let's see how I do... Goshen, Cabbage Patch (aka Muni), Forest Hills, Jones Creek, Fort Gordon, North Aug CC, ACC, Hickory Knob, Monticello, the River Club, hmmm... There as a private course in a gated community out towards Aiken they had I think 3 nines... I took lessons from a woman instructor who was great, there was also a state park in SC that we played, lots of leaves.... oh yes memories.

Monticello really left a mark on me, TONS of water. I remember it being a really crazy layout.

Now when I go back I usually play at the ACC, love that layout and its always in the best condition.

Congrats on the Double E!! ... just think a hole in one is only an eagle, so your one better than a hole in one!

Great job! I bet there must have been a whole lot of yelling on that hole! :)

I actually couldn't see my ball go in. We had just let a single player on a cart play through and he told us to go ahead and hit up. He was standing beside the green when I hit my shot. I could see the top of the flag and new it was going right at it. Then I heard that guy yell. One of my partners said it went in, I couldn't really react besides laugh. So I was talking to the guy that we let play through when the other shot went in. Will never forget that as long as I live. Kinda feel bad for out third. His hole out on the 7th hole was overshadowed a bit. Of course, it was a great shot as well.
