Epon AF Tour vs Tourstage MR-23 US Blade

Hi all.

Can anyone compare the 2 clubs in the title? Particularly on head size and whether you felt one was softer off the face. I have the TS but I've always wanted a set of the AF Tours too. For those lucky enough to have both in their possesion, comparison pictures would be awesome :superman:

Thanks,

Ian.

Ian, I have never hit the tour stage but would venture a guess that the af tours are softer and more forgiving...they are real soft...go for the af tours bro, am sure u will like them.

Got the AF Tours. Looks like I'm going all Epon in the wedges too. Awesome irons. Thanks Harry.

Ian, do you find the AF tours that much better than the tourstage?

I am thinking about restricting my hoing to nothing until I can find a nice deal on AF tours, then just stop getting irons all together for 5 or so years. Mentally I like to change irons after bad rounds and I always went with a cb from a blade, but I now have enough evidence that I always play worse with cbs to where I think if I had a rotation of baby blades, Vegas, and AF tours, mostly played what I like best of the 3 and switch out to another as I feel I need a change of scenery that would be quite an arsenal.

Hmmm. I kinda am. I have admittedly not hit many real quality forged cbs, I will likely most often game my Miuras unless the Vegas surprise me (it is killing me I can't hit them due to my broken rib) and I am selling my titliest 962s after determining I hate hitting them and don't want them around anymore because they don't even work as a pacifier. I really don't believe that cbs offer me anything except for a mental out (even though I don't believe it cbs are easier for me to play well with, 2 bad striking rounds in a row and I would reach for them). I am also being a pretty big ho and I shouldn't with irons. I generally have 2 sets, play one until a bad iron round then switch to the other and play it until a bad iron round. This more or less is my MO, and it is all mental. A third set may complicate this precise formula...

I will look into the tourstage cbs though.... The offset thing is a major turn on. I would love to hit irons that are onset just to see......actually, I really need an onset driver.

Hi Bigmean.

I don't think the AF Tours are much better than the mr23 blades, but what I do think is that the shafts in the AF Tours are better suited to me than the ones in the Tourstage, C-Tapers vs DGS400. I just lucked out that way. Yay me! I've always wanted a set of the Epons and luckily I came across a set in good condition at the right price.

These two iron sets are in the top 3 of my favourite looking blades/mb sets ever. The other one used to be the RomaRo Pro Forged, but it's been replaced by the Miura Giken MB5005.

There are lots of other jdm blades out there. Google is your friend my friend. Enjoy :)

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
