Snake Eyes Irons

I just put together a set of 600b with project x shafts and love them. I have been hitting MacGregor VIP 1025m and these are as good. I want p x shafts and it was cheaper to buy heads also than pulling the dgs300 out of VIP's.

 

Also have a set of PCB tour that are Muira forged but 600b feel just as good.

don't forget to grab the TM wedges. unreal. half the cost of vokeys, great black finish and just as solid.

I have been playing mine just a few months after they came out. The chrome holds up much better then mizuno and feel just as good for alot less $$$$. I did take the chrome off and had them sandblasted. I gun blued them and they look even better.

I have not played their irons but I am playing a Snake Eyes Wedge, the "653TM" 55* loft, 10*bounce. For the $$$, it is a great wedge. I would have purchased a matching Lob Wedge but I just didn't need it. Back to their irons, the 600XC's look great and I would have no regrets giving them a try.

 

As far as the wedge goes. Here are my costs....

Head = $15

Dynamic Gold S300 = $10

Grip = $2.50

For about $30 I put together a good looking, well-playing wedge. It works for me.....

 

 

I play the same wedge but in a 51 and 56*. It is an amazing wedge and definitely a great deal. The weight ports in the back are great too, I had a couple of mine filled to the point where the weighting is perfect for me. A great buy!

Thanks for the replies. Shopping time lol. I plan on buying these online then taking them to golfsmith to get fitted. I saw a set with the TT Dynamic Gold S300s and the GP Tour Velvets 3-PW go for $202 and they were brand new. Do you guys know where I can get them at a good price?

 

P.S: When I go to get fitting I'm almost positive they are going to have to cut it down 1/4". Will this throw off the wait at all? And I think I will need 1* flat too. Will that mess up anything?

If you check the specs on the iron heads you should find them to be on the light side. They have the hosel weight port so you can add weight as needed to get the correct swing weight. So once you get fitted they should be able to tell you or you should be able to figure out how much weight to add in order get the swing weight right.

I love my 600XCs. Best clubs I've ever had and never going back to OEM unless someone gives them to me. Even then I can't see them being better than the 600XC.

Sorry for the delay. Here are a couple photos. These have been in play for about 2 months and I have not had to re-gun blue yet. There will be rust spots from playing in wet conditions, but they can easy be washed off.

I don't care for the looks of most of the Snake Eyes clubs (just a personal thing) but I do think there are several Snake Eyes heads that are every bit as good as the best OEM stuff.

MGP, I like those irons and have hit them only once. I might try them again in a couple of days. Never hurts to have that backup set. :clapping:

I play the 600c 7 thru PW with lofts adjusted 2* strong & 600xc 5 iron w/std. lofts. Shafts are TX tour "R" flex. Lofts adjusted because I hit them too high before loft adjustment. Like the clubs & may buy another set before they go out of production. Finish is great and hold up well for forged clubs.

No, but they sure do look nice. They might be a "project" for this fall or winter. I'll also wait to see if they put them on sale because I'm a cheap SOB. :cheesy:

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe the 675 series will have the same color and look of the 655 black wedge. I just bought a set of 600b heads, 51 and 56 655TM wedges. I plan to reshaft them with my 6.0 rifles. I currently play Golfsmith "professional grind" blades and love them. I pure my 9 iron 150 + with a 6.0 rifle shaft. I do like the 600bs look though. If they come out with them in black the 600bs will be my back up set.

Snake Eyes and Maltby both have very nice forged irons. I'd love to try Wishon, as I believe he was the designer for the SE 600 series and makes a very fine product. But I don't have a Wishon account and he's a little selective on who he sells to.

Don't know if your looking for something in particular from Wishon, but you can buy his component heads through diamondtourgolf.com. There are 3 cavity models that you can order through their site, but no blades. FYI

 

As for Snake Eyes and Golfsmith components, I have never had any problems. SE FC models was one of the best I ever hit, and I also am about to put together a combo set, really want to do a 600c/600b set, but may have to wait until I can see the new stuff. Talked to one of the golfsmith builders a few days ago about the G40, very good looking iron but not forged, however he says it feels like a mizuno. Decisions, decisions.

Never thought the day would come but the 690 mb's are in the closet and a set of 675 C's (close enough right) are in the bag. Before buying these I searched this board to find some information about them, and after receiving my set I can say that all the positive reviews are true.

 

I've ordered the set at mclaingolf.com, Jim was a great help in putting together the perfect set for me, and after trying them I think we've succeeded in doing so. At the current dollar/euro rates it was a steal, but if you live in the states and can skip on the taxes and shipping cost you can also buy a great set put together by a craftsman for an very good price.
