Fourteen FH1000 vs Srixon Z945

Anyone have tried both? I am looking at both irons to replace my current gamers.

No experience with either, but looking at each I'd suspect the 945's are more forgiving.

Didn't try the Srixon but currently game the FH1000s.

Head is surprisingly larger for a blade... while still "blade" small at address (if that even makes any sense).

Feel is soft for me...top-line is very thin... and the best looking club for me out there now (imo)!

I am sure you can't go wrong with either... I personally got the one that fits my eye at address... as well as in my bag!

I wouldn't be so sure, I had the fh1000s and they were not just the most forgiving blade ever, but more forgiving than CBs I have hit they are truly the SGI of blades.

Now that said I disagree with above from only my personal tastes. I found the head way to tall and big, the topline to be too thick, but I could live with it if not for the head height, and I would not consider them soft at all, I think my mp14s feel softer. Now this is just my take, and despite that I didn't like them, holy crap, they are forgiving, long and long on mishits.

Never hit srixon so can't help there. I would like to add to confusion and through out that in that kind if iron I would be looking at romaro as well.

Wow, that says a lot. Of course I pretty much hated the fh1000s but they were in mind as forgiving of a blade as I ever hit......

I want to try hitting this new srixon line....I wish my pga store had them, I didn't see last time...

Currently gaming the z945's and they have just enough forgiveness, demo'd the 545, 745, 714MB, FH1000, Miura TB, and I could not get over the feel of the 945 with modus shaft.

I was able to try the FH1000 with Modus and KBS Tour. While I agree that they are pretty forgiving for a a blade, I did not like the feel (not necessarily negative, just a personal preference). I have now the Z945, limited playtime with them but I like them feel wise over the FH1000. I will get back here for more feedback, playing this weekend!

I felt the same way Ivan. Nothing against the fh1000, but didn't resonate with my mind/body like many other offerings...

I was fortunate to try my friends' FH1000 paired with Modus 130 Stiff, it has the same shaft as my miura. That combo(FH1000+Modus 130 Stiff) is a lot better than the FH1000+KBS Tour Stiff and FH1000+Modus 120TX).

Also, I was able to try the Z945 paired with Modus125X. I found the 125 stiffer to flex compared to the 120X. The launch though was amazing, I noticed faster launch compared to the other modus (120 and 130). It gives me the impression that the 125 is the least to get afffected by wind.

I also installed Modus 130 Stiff with the Srixon Z945 but for some reason, i did not like how they felt. This is also the first time I have experienced steel shaft and irons that does not match. I thought that was only for driver and woods, apparently I was wrong. Back to the Modus 120X for now until. I get my order of Modus 125 Stiff.

Visited my old time clubfitter yesterday and referred my problem with him. He suggested that the 130 are a better fit for me. We cut the shaft by 1/4 of an inch which resolved my prior belief of bad combo for the 945s.

I'll play in a few days and will revert back here.

Agreed, FH1000 with 125 recoil protos. I should have got the F5 flex. The F4 flex sends the ball too high!

I bought a set of the 945s 2 days ago. I should be able to pick them up in about 2 weeks. Ordered with Modus 120s shafts 1/2" over standard. I wanted to get something here that I won't be able to get when we move back to the states in a month. Now I just can't wait for the store to call and tell me they are ready to pickup!
I'm sure that doesn't help you choose, but I was looking at these and titleist t-mb's and Srixon was by far my favorite.
