Houston Group Golf Outing

Who will put together the next outing ?

The First Houston Group Outing was set up by Keith (KJK) at Fishcreek.

The Second Houston Group Outing was at Blackhorse and was done by Drew.

I just finished up the Trackman Fitting day at Timbercreek for the group after several months of planning and will do the next fitting day if needed.


So,

Who will step up and plan the next one? ;)

Hey guys.........don't forget the Houston outing I organized at Meadowbrook Farms (back in the day).....I remember cause I lost $ that day.....;) We had like a 12+ player turnout that day and played a skins game.......T Em Up won all the $

 

 

I wouldn't mind going out to Fish Creek again...love that course! Played Cypresswood Tradition this past weekend and it was in awesome shape!

I would love the South course at Blackhorse or Wildcat. Why don't someone take the lead between Double Rods and LPM (maybe a PM) and lets start planning.

Wildcat or Blackhorse would be great. My vote would be Wildcat since I've never played there with good weather, just one outing that got rained out but the course looked great. Let us know.

I'd be interested in either of those courses as I have yet to play them. In the future I could likely host one of these outings as well.

 

 

On a side note...what kind of course is Blaketree National? I have heard some good things about it and I'm thinking of driving up there this weekend for a round. Has anyone played it yet this year?

Blaketree, great layout, not always in the best shape. It's a fun course for the most part, and has more elevation change than you'll generally find in the area. Pace of play is always good as they space out tee times. IMO it's rather expensive for the shape it's always been in when I've been there, and the length of time it takes to get there .... and I'm in The Woodlands.

 

I haven't played it yet this year. Last time I was there was November or so.

 

Ever played Fish Creek? I'm sure I'll be playing this weekend if you feel like a round. Guest rates are pretty reasonable... I think they're 50 bucks now on the weekend.

PS - I'm in for the outing, of course. I can set it up at Fish Creek, as a third option. First time we were there, we got rained out. Wildcat and Blackhorse are good by me, too.

Your description of Blaketree is pretty much what I've been hearing from everyone. A great layout that isn't always kept up as it could be.

 

I haven't played fish creek, but I've heard it's a lot of fun as well. I would be up for playing there instead. I don't know that I can on Saturday, but I'm free all day Sunday.

I'm up for anything, assuming I'm off whatever weekend is picked. Haven't played the South Course in awhile, so that would be my first choice of those mentioned so far. If my brother could set it up, would anyone be interested in possibly playing at Bay Oaks? He never has a problem bringing people out to play, but I'm not sure about a "larger" group (we'd maybe have to tee off a little after the prime time AM slots). Their head pro sees him bringing guys out to play as free advertising, so it may be a possibility.

Kyle and I got together to today at Fish Creek for a little round. It was great to put a face with the name, and it's always nice to make new friends. We had a good time, and it was a great day out. The wind picked up on the back nine and play slowed down quite a bit, but the company was good. Condition at Fish Creek has been better, but it's coming back. The greens are only rolling "OK" compared to what we're used to out there.

 

Plus, I shot my low round of the spring, which was nice. :russian_roulette:

I had a great time with keith yesterday and enjoyed the course. I can attest that he did have his game working and put together a pretty impressive round. I look forward to doing it again sometime soon.

South Course? If so just say the word and I get it started. Rates will be the Redstone Advantage rate and range balls are free since I am technically a "member" at Blackhorse.

Played the North course today at Blackhorse in corporate event...best ball striking in a long time!

 

Played with 2 buddies, a 25 and 30 handicap (true)....had 6 birdies on my own and we ended up -7 (one guy putted my tee shot on the par 3 before i got to :russian_roulette:

 

 

course was in great shape!
