Scotty Paintfill

I just recently got my scotty back from the custom shop and after a couple rounds the paintfill started to come off. Has this happend to anybody else and what should i do???

If it get too bad, just go get some Testor model enamel, and do it yourself.

Its cheaper then sending it back and then having to wait.

No problems with my paintfill, I got mine done over the winter. I've been playing sand filled greens as well. Like Derk said, get some Testors model paint and do the touch-ups yourself.

I wonder if anybody know how to remove the paintfill?? any solvent?? that don't affect the stainless??

Jmaubert you don't have to worry about solvent bothering a stainless putter. I've used solvent on black oxide and oilcan finished putters and never had a problem either.

I use Acetone. Dip a Q-tip in the Acetone, moisten the paintfill (repeat as necessary) and then scoop out the softened paint with a toothpick. Use and old toothbrush wetted with Acetone to scrub out the very last of the paintfill.

I had the same problem with a Custom Shop refinished NP 2 mid slant. The putter also started rusting immediately, even though it was Pro Platinum. The CS re-refinished it, and the same things happened. They finally told me the original putter was "probably too rusted when we received it to keep it from rusting further". But, uh, it wasn't rusted at all when they received it the first time. They refunded part of my cost ($40 reufund), said nothing about the paintfill and essentially told me to screw off.

I have not sent my putter into the custom shop but will once my Studio Design (2005 Slant Neck) begins to see wear for PP finish. I take the paintfill off all my clubs including my scotty, I love the look!
