MY FIRST WEDGE GRIND!!! Tell me what you think!

Well I just finished my first wedge grind.

I know everyone says that you should start with an old wedge, but I just grabed my new Callaway Vintage X TOUR 60º PM.

I always play wedges with very little bounce. I like to nip the ball with my wedges. Anything 90 yards and in a play my 60º so it has to be very versitile.

I have a good short game and get up and down more than 60-70% percent of the time around the greens.

I received this club from a buddy custom built by Callaway for me.

But it sat in my room for 6 month because i felt it had way too much bounce......11º as opposed to my Mizuno's that had 5º or less.


I have a lot of tools (except a bench grinder) and i'm good with my hands. I used to shape surfboards when i was younger.

TOOLS USED:
1. Dremel with stone bit
2. Orbital sander
3. Wet dry sandpaper (still have not done yet to finish and get rid of small nicks).


I'm happy with the results what do you think.

I wanted to get the trailing edge bounce down A LOT. At least to 5º. How does it look??

It can only get better once I buy the bench grinder!!!!! I hope!!!

It looks like you removed most of the metal from the leading edge on the sole. Does that help you nip the ball off of tight lies??

You do know that they sell that wedge with that grind already on it....? The "PM Grind". I have one and it's the shiznit.

I did not grind down the leading edge.....the club allready had the PM or P grind.

 

What i did was grind down the TRAILING EDGE, HEEL, & TOE.

 

I was trying to reduce bounce and drag.

 

I will be testing it this week and perhaps take it to my buddy's to use his bench grinder and make it a ZERO bounce wedge! I will have to make up the lost weight with lead tape or powder.
