Will do, they look like they are pretty futuristic looking, the cb 2008 has two chunks of weight one at the toe and one on the heel then a big gap where the sweetspot is and these have the big chunk of weight behind the sweetspot and nothing at the toe and heel so not sure how that will affect shots.

Face progression is different from reverse offset. The way face progression is measured is "reverse" from offset because it is a different measurement.

I don't have any JDM clubs that have the reverse offset because I can't hit them but they do exist.

When I had the FireSole Forged the A and S wedges were so clunky and offset.

They have been going away from that look for about a decade now but even the JDM blades had that. My Srixon Pro 100s had a bit of that look. MX 23s (could be the 20s) -the pw looks a tad more offset than the 7i. The JDM precursor to the VRS Forged had it. A lot of 80s-90s JDM sets had it. Mostly in A and S wedges but in a few pws as well.

I was playing in my garage and playing with some of my clubs and figured why not snap some pics and share. This is one of my favorite sets. The 8-pw are fugly, but they are beautiful and feel beautiful otherwise. I didn't do any science, and I don't even know it care what face progression is, but those who don't believe reverse offset exists can clarify if it does or I am Mis understanding something....

 

 

 

 

I probably shouldn't have implied it was common, but rather it exists in more than a few jdm sets. If this is not recerse offset, it sure addresses and plays like it.....

face progression (as i understand it) is the distance from the center of the hosel to the leading edge vs offset which measures from the front of the hosel. higher # = less offset.

i think on the net, people read the face progression numbers (have never seen the irons) and assume many of these irons have reverse offset when the opposite is true.

as to the pics...there isnt much offset on that wedge if you look at the leading edge and the most forward part of the hosel bend. my irons are (look) a bit like that, but the wedge seems to trick the eye a bit because of the high loft vs the lower lofted irons. in reality my irons have less offset in the short irons and more in the longer irons in a very normal way

as for me....all i look whilst playing is the ball and leading edge of the iron..its a non issue for me...and my new irons are s-w-e-e-t and look like jewelry

Mentally I see more "crook" in the neck on the higher irons looking down, but I can see how that may be an illusion of sorts? It is a close call though, just very unlike my other low offset sets where the 4 has more visually. i did read somewhere on the Internet that jdm sets have had this and just figured it was the case.....

Either way, that set doesn't bother me and I bet those tourstage and recoils feel pretty badass!

ya man...i dont know why they do it that way, but i do know that my miss is a bit out on the toe, and i;m not doing that w. these new sticks and have no idea why

That picture is more of a neck transition issue than offset.

That neck transition is common in GI/offset clubs, so there is some overlap. I'll try to find that neck and offset.

Hmm. Well I apologize for being wrong on this. My brain always saw it as offset, and once the idea was in my head from reading on the Internet I thought for sure that was the case. In either case, their short to long set up is not like clubs i am used to seeing here, an it really "plays" or "feels" like offset regarding addressing the ball if that makes sense.

not much in the world of golf makes sense i;m certainly not saying that some sets dont have reverse offset. i just dont know. i think what started this was me saying that the j40 combo set is that way (it is)..but then again, that was a pretty thoughtless way to have a combo set IMO, and think that was just an afterthought.

No jealousness here.....I think it is more fun to score used gear than it is to go and buy clubs, but that is just me....it is the deal that makes it that much sweeter!
