Golf Instruction Denver Metro

Any recommendations for a good golf instructor? I haven't had a lesson since I picked up the game. My HCP is stuck around 9 and I'm looking to make the next jump.

 

I've been looking at Ed Oldham since he is near my house and seems to have many good accolades. Any other personal experience and recommendations are appreciated.

I took my first lesson in quite some time this past weekend, it was humbling...If you are down south I can give you a good recommendation.

Great topic - I really haven't seen anyone other then learning from YouTube and having an friend record my swing. I play at a single digit but get lose from time to time.

I live in the north metro area. I play all around the state. But my "home" course is heritage westmoor.

Also, I'm willing to travel for a great instructor.

I would be interested in hearing some instruction experiences good and bad.

I see a guy down south in Highlands Ranch who has been good for my game. I usually fluctuate between a +2 and a 2 depending on my swing. He's kept me a lot more consistent over the last nine months. Definitely helped my ability to go lower and to get out of my funks quicker. I've been quite impressed and I'm usually a pretty tough sell.

I like it because we tend to 15-30 minute sessions where I only need a tweak or two and then go on my way. Most guys I run into only like to do 45-1 sessions and I feel like I end up wasting a bunch of the time payed for.

I'm definitely a feel player and he does a good job of popping of four or five different ways of showing me something until I get it.

You can't go wrong with Ed Oldham. He is a very accomplished teacher who works with golfers of all levels from beginners to guys trying to play for a living.
If you don't mind traveling down south by the tech center I would recommend Trent Warner. He is a golf digest top 100 teacher and a really good guy.

I've been very happy with my results after seeing Craig Vollmer at the Westminster Golf Galaxy. I bought lessons for myself and my adult sons as a Christmas present. I can honestly say we have all improved. Craig's style is pretty laid back and he only advocates small changes or tweaks at any one time. For example, he had me slightly shorten my backswing and the result has been straighter ball flight with little to no loss in distance. My oldest son has dropped 10 strokes a round from last year! Craig simply got him to slow down and use his legs a little more. He sends you a before and after video and narrative after each lesson so you can see your improvements and for future reference if needed.
