Driver Alternatives for 51" 8 1/2 year old?

My son is on US Kids tour and he plays the 51" Tour series. The 440cc Tour series Driver is ok. I'm curious if others have had better results with other clubs for his age. I have heard some feedback on the VT Max clubs and considering however, I'm curious given these clubs are at 440cc's if there may be good options with other "standard" clubs. A few that I have been looking at below and curious if anyone has gone that route and had improved results over the USKG 440cc Tour series club.

- TaylorMade SLDR 14 Degree W/Senior flex - (aldila 44 magnum or like shaft), cut down 36"

- TaylorMade JetSpeed 14 Degree W/Senior flex - (aldila 44 magnum like shaft), cut down to 36"

Please list any other clubs that can be lofted to at least 14 and have worked well for your juniors at this age.

Recommendations are welcomed.

I highly reccomend the Flynn Golf Clubs. Both the irons and woods are great. Everything through Mike is custom fit and you can be assured that things will fit your child. I have seen parents but adult club heads and put women's or senior shafts in them and cut them down to the right length. You may get some benefit from a slightly better club head but not having a shaft to match the club concerns me. When you cut down the shafts you are altering the specs of the club and that can't be underestimated. I would stick with something custom fit like Flynn Golf offers.

IMO there are many clubs out there that are better the the U.S. Kid's Tour Series driver. My son played the Cobra Bio Cell Jr and a TM Jetspeed HL over the past year. He is currently gaming a 12 degree R15. It seems like I'm starting to accumulate too much junior golf gear.

I agree. The US Kids Irons are great. The metals not so much.

When Ian was 8 he used a 11* ladies warbird cut down and was very consistent with it. It around here somewhere if you want it. Now hes all Cobra. Ladies AMP CELL cut 1" and heads re weighted to balance the swing weight. Kills it. Hes a bit skinny though at 5'1" and 80 lbs. He never liked the Kids clubs... any of them.
