Jackson's Chase and Shenandoah Valley

I will be coming through Front Royal heading to and from the US OPEN...My buddies and I are traveling in an RV.

We have made a tee time at Shenandoah Valley for Tuesday June 12th and am looking to maybe play Jackson's Chase on the way back to Fredericksburg on Friday the 15th.....

I have 2 questions...do you think Jackson's Chase will let us park our RV in their lot overnight on the 14th and what kind of shape is Jackson's Chase and Shenandoah Valley in...

Needless to say I am pretty excited about the trip...

Not sure what type of shape either course is in but most courses in the Metro area are in pretty good shape at that point in the year.

 

Shenandoah Valley has 27 holes and is an older style layout. Heavily treed and has some pretty good elevation changes. There is not one hole that will wow you but the scenery is nice and it is very quiet. Overall, a good solid choice that will not break the bank.

 

Jackson's Chase is a newer course but I have not heard rave reviews about it. If it was my dollar, I would play Blue Ridge Shadows. It is located in the same general area. This course just opened this year. It is a Tom Clark design by Ault Clark and Associates. Everybody who has played has come back with great stories and comments about the course. They have a waterfall that descends behind the clubhouse and is in play on two holes on the course, I believe. This is second hand of course. The course is supposed to be the centerpiece of a new community. There are no houses yet so you can enjoy the course without the intrusion of homes at this point.

I play Shenandoah pretty regularly and for the money it can't be beat. I haven't played Jackson's Chase for a couple years but it's nothing special. As far as Blue Ridge Shadows goes, I haven't played it but most of the people I've talked to don't really like it. Plus it's pretty expensive. Shenandoah is the way to go in my opinion.
