Wilson Spartan Back Irons any info?

They change the name on the back, Hale Irwin, Sam Snead, etc, x31, 300+, Patty Berg, Lora Baul. The heads on the woman's sets are just a tad smaller but exact same head shape. I have taken a set out to play on several occasions and when I am striking the ball well they are amazing. When I am a bit off I miss me forged cavity backs. I even cut and bent a set to fit my 8 year old. Getting the lie that flat was not easy, did it without any breaks. He loves them except the sw, it is just too heavy. Wilson made a number of sets with their Staff Professionals names-

Staff Dynapower irons were made by Wilson from 1957-1975

 

There were different versions of X-31s ,from Staff forged to Cast. Wilson 1200s were cast as well. Cast clubs do not bend very easily, and there were some years the Wilson irons were subject to chrome peeling as well as breaking at the hosel.

When you say Spartanback, what version are you referencing?

The clubs are called Sparten Back. The head design. Real sweet muscle back club. Has a thicker lay out then there blades of that time. Love both.

It's a Seijun Suzuki movie, not for the easily bored or confused. And the golf sucks, especially the 'always type-cast as DNGAF Harada' character.
