I used them last year in a couple different weights from 8 to 16 grams. Wasn't impressed and took them out.

Are you thinking about any particular club or just asking in general?

I use them in my putters (which seems to be the most common usage for them), 30-40 gm resulted in a big improvement for me.

Can I asked what you didn't like about them? How it made the club (driver?) feel?

Guess I'm referring more to the driver, I know back weighting putters is very common now with the anchoring ban.

How counterbalancing for full swing clubs effects the feel seems to be very subjective and difficult to predict. Only trying it yourself and experimenting will likely give you the answer you are looking for. Assuming the shaft weight and swing weight/MOI have been decently fit first, some do seem to benefit from counterbalancing but as I understand it, it tends to be a minority.

What 'problem' are you trying to address (if any) or are you just curious?

How well have you been fit for shaft (club) weight and swing weight?

I like the feel of an extra 30g's in my hands, tried the Tour Lock weights, but really disliked the drilling installation and having to wrestle and wiggle them out for re-use and regripping. Now I just use the drop in plugs that sit under the grip...much easier.

I am mostly just curious and I struggle with my timing and big blocks. Think I am going to get a couple weights like you suggested and play around with them. They have a chart on there website so I have a good idea where to start, was just seeing what others think about them. In June I am doing a fitting with Titleist so ill have a better understanding of my swing then....

Depending on how much weight you want to play around with - you can often just use some lead tape wrapped around the very butt end of the club (instead of destroying a grip).

For full swings, even for those that do get some benefit from counterbalancing, much lower weights are used instead of the heavy ones used in putters. If you just want to play around, you might try 10 gm increments.

A fitting is a good idea. Even if the counterbalancing does help a little, it could be an indication that the shaft weight (total club weight) is too light. That you can simulate by wrapping the lead tape around the shaft below the grip (instead of on the very butt end). For timing issues, head weight (swing weight) is another thing you can play around with very easily with some lead tape.
